1:25:00-ish - MY 2nd viewing thoughts
The penultimate episode for Season 1 folks, my gal pal in hot on the trail towards "I'm Caught-Up City"!
We deal with the fallout from hammering hearts as we try and tackle love triangles, households full of compromise, problematic interview techniques and toxic entanglements. All that being said, I'm sure there's a happy ending somewhere in all of this, right? ..... right?

2025-10-09 02:00:50 +0000 UTCA detail I really like is that in 1x5, Daniel says he wouldn't drink Rashid's sweet blood because he's a "savory man", but everything we've seen him drink in the show is super sweet (cola, grasshoppers at the bar) LOL!

What he says here is pretty consistent with the books: he’s taken from his room in the middle of the night while he kicked and screamed, he’s locked away in a tower surrounded by corpses that look like him (blue eyed blondes), indicating the predator had a “type” and a weird fixation, and the vampire fed on him and left him with the corpses repeatedly before finally turning him. There’s a strong implication of, if not sexual assault, a heavy metaphor of such in the books. Then Magnus kills himself by jumping into a fire in front of him. Just wanted to make that clear, especially as we gear up for season 3.

2025-10-08 00:46:44 +0000 UTCMovieman: Fun fact: Levadopa (which Armand seemingly arranged, despite him crediting Mr. du Lac) both stimulates memory regeneration and can pull back some lost memories even in dementia patients, AND apparently it can be sexually arousing. The puzzle is piecing in strange and fascinating ways. But yeah, Armand was at the bar I'm p sure.

2025-10-07 23:09:47 +0000 UTCFOR MOVIEMAN: Darkwave noticed one of the Bacon triptych pieces. It’s mentioned for sale at some point in Season 2, I think in the first episode. Armand was, in fact, there. He didn’t insert himself into the memory, and the erasure hadn’t begun at that point. Daniel is accurately remembering Armand being at “Polynesian Mary’s.” I believe this is confirmed in the next episode or at the beginning of the next season. Also, Louis says “I am the knight” in response to Claudia (not Cloudia, lol) when she calls him her dark knight, clearly playing on the word. However, at the end of Season 2, he says, “I own the night.” In Paris, Claudia also reveals more about Bruce to Louis while they lie in their coffins, rehearsing the story they plan to tell the coven: “Moles on his inner thighs,” “kept under the floorboards,” and “tired of your gloomy face,” etc. Not trying to play “gotcha,” just offering a few small corrections for clarity. I do wonder if Darkwave will have a change of heart about Pookie Bear once everything is revealed. I’m a proud LeSTAN, but then again, I’ve read all the material.
