Well, with that, we close out the first (and hopefully not last) season of "Alien: Earth". In retrospect, after marinating on this now for a little over a week... I can certainly agree that, while extremely enjoyable and high quality throughout, it is not an especially "perfect" show.
I don't mind a bit of a "cliffhanger", or the idea of the show-runner(s) keeping some cards close to the chest, but I gotta admit that there are a LOT of plot threads not really closed out that I thought surely would've been by this point. It's all clearly a setup for a second season, and while I'm ok with that overall, seeing a bit more culminate in the way of character arcs would've honestly been a bit more preferred.
Minor complaints aside, I love that we got a whole SEASON of an "Alien" show that was as good as it was. A wonderful homage in design and execution to what has come before, while also striving to innovate and voyage into entirely uncharted narrative waters. This show took some big, bold swings that the franchise has never quite dipped into before, and for that alone it's earned my respect. Hopefully, with more funding and popularity, I can see Season 2's writing getting tighter. Hopefully a few more episode to flesh out characters and make major narrative/character beats more impactful as well :)
