The Last of Us - Ep.2X7 "Convergence" UNCUT & UNCENSORED

Welp.... with that, we have reached the FINAL episode of this season. I have a LOT of thoughts (shocker I know lol) and though I voice most of them in this video, I will most likely do a retrospective stream where I have more in-depth observations and discussions. All in all? I'm potentially hovering around a 7/10 for Season 2, but I may have to stew on it a little longer before I finalize my judgements. There are many things about this season that I LOVED, and a few things about this season that I did NOT appreciate/enjoy. I'm still very grateful for this adaptation and the journey overall, and I'm very much looking forward to Season 3 whenever it may arrive. Thank you all for joining me on this deeply personal and meaningful journey, and I'll catch you in the next one :)

I said in a previous comment that a POV-switch to Abby would be too hard on TV audience. I still think it would have been, if it happened mid-season. You said they could pull it off, it would even make you more engaged to see the antagonist become a protagonist mid-season (if I recall correctly). But it's easy to project hindsight after completing the game. I believe typical audience would have just gotten mad at having to watch Abby passively as a main character after what she did. They could have done it, I agree, but they would have to extensively prepare the switch to keep viewers. Which would come with its own sets of problems; taking up a time, straying away from structure, story and pacing. Seems like they're going for a third route that is less jarring and doesn't really have to stray away from the source material at all. Using the season to build up interest in Abby's story and situation, then heavily relying on the cooldown period in-between seasons for a seasonal switch. Delaying the POV shift to season 3 seems like a sensible middle ground. I'm happy they even seem to be giving the switch a go at all, I was skeptical that they would. I appreciate hearing you flesh out your opinion throughout this season, I wanted to expand a little on my own lane of opinion from my comment on episode 2. Maybe our lanes will Converge after season 3! Can't wait.

they kinda messed up Ellie’s characterization this season but I actually really liked Kaitlyn Devers performance as Abby .

This episode was the one that probably most *felt* like the game. And now knowing that the tone could be like this too, looking back, it makes me sad that we didn't get this grim mood for more of the season, and that Dina and Ellie's falling in love got dragged out so far instead
