It’s great to see the old Hawkins gang together again. This season feels very cinematic, the tone is definitely darker, and the stakes feel higher. The cast has grown up so much since we last saw them. It's just nice to be back in this world again, even if it is scary!
The next two episodes will be up tomorrow!

What a long wait! I had actually completely forgotten about Stranger Things until a couple months ago. I’ve actually rewatched the entire show a few times in the past couple of months, with several reactors. Your reactions are my latest rewatch. S5E1 Um. You’re not going to like how Karen and Ted Wheeler “get more involved”. This season drops the plot armor and takes the gloves off. No one is safe. Welcome to Season 5. You wanted the show to start with everyone together, and you got your wish. Holly has (suddenly) grown up and is now on the verge of joining the party. Steve and Dustin are going to need a few episodes to get back to where they used to be. Dustin is not in a good place. The "MISSING TEEN" "JANE HOPPER" flyer phone number actually works when called. It appears at about 14:50+ in Episode 1 (on Netflix, not this video). When you call the phone number that's listed on the bottom of the flyer, a taped recording plays back like an old-fashioned answering machine (for as long as Netflix maintains this unusual promotion.) Murray is his usual self. Yuri is probably in Russia, making his mother proud by selling high-priced peanut butter. The love triangle is alive and kicking. Argyle has probably returned to California. dungeon crawl = an RPG (role-playing game, such as D&D) practice of exploring an expansive dungeon-like world, usually for the sake of grinding (accumulating experience points and gold) Upside-Down crawl = a relentless search for Vecna’s new lair The teacher at the elementary school is the Duffer Brothers’ former high school drama teacher. I know! What the heck is Sarah Conner doing in the Upside Down!? That first run of El’s we saw ended a few seconds before Hop clicked the stopwatch. He deliberately kept her “record time” above 12 minutes and 30 seconds. Hop is also hiding something from Joyce too. The brother-sister moment between Mike and Holly is touching, even with Mike lying through his teeth about monsters in Hawkins, but there’s also an important foreshadowing. The shooting for the hospital scenes with Max took a whole day and she had to lie still the entire time, so apparently Sadie fell asleep a few times. Okay. Was that pear-shaped enough for you? S5E2 I don’t think any woman has sobered up as fast as Karen sobered up before the demogorgon arrived. The song is a popular ABBA song. Just think: for 4 years, Karen and Ted had no idea that their children were fighting demogorgons. Now they know. And Nancy has all new trauma to add to the previous trauma. When the military showed up to investigate the demogorgon attack, there were two ladies jackets on the counter, so Sullivan knows that El was there. Nancy was so shocked by what happened to her mother that she didn’t clean up after El. The military, at this point in the show, STILL doesn’t know about Vecna or believe he exists, so they automatically blame everything on El. Wait! You STILL haven’t seen Back to the Future!!! Seriously!? How can you be a top-tier reactor without Back to the Future reactions? Demogorgon. Mom. Vecna. Mom. Let’s play it safe and go with the monsters. That wall has definite GOT vibes. He’s BACK!

They faced down a Demogorgon with a wine bottle and a golf club and didn't back down! The Wheelers are a pretty bad ass family! And Jax, I think you need to add Back to the Future to your watchlist! Hopefully you can get it in before the end of the year because this is the 40th anniversary of the movie!
