There are several great baseball cameos in this movie but my favorite is Reggie Jackson as the brainwashed assassin. Reggie, also known as Mr. October for his clutch postseason play, was one of the greatest hitters of all time. He played for the California Angels later in his career but is best known for his time with the Oakland A's and New York Yankees where he won five World Series rings between both teams. He hit 563 home runs over his career, 14th all time. Another cameo was Jim Palmer as one of the broadcast announcers, one of the best pitchers of the 70's. He won 3 World Series with the Baltimore Orioles. Vin Scully was a huge fan of Airplane! and wanted to be in this movie, but unfortunately the Dodgers wouldn't let him.
