I had no idea what to expect with this show. Turns out I LOVE IT!!! The characters are so lovable and create such a fantastic family dynamic. I can't wait to see where this 6 part story takes us.

People had mixed reactions. Some people hate cultural diversity. Some just don’t like different genre styles for heroes. Others don’t like genders. Some don’t like it detracting from the comics. I enjoy it when they get creative. I hope you keep enjoying it, Jax.🙏🏾 The costume her “bully” wore at A-Con was one of CPT Marvel’s comic book outfits, which is why Bruno said the ironic line of it not being accurate.

I personally kept being less and less excited about the show as it went on, but to be honest I'm not the target audience for it. 🤷♂️ Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan is absolutely stellar casting. She's adorable and enthusiastic and just clearly the perfect fit for the role!

A second generation immigrant teenage girl from a minor religion in the US living in Jersey City. And she proves that NONE of that really matters and she absolutely deserves to be here.

She’s from my home town. She’s a MASSIVE comic fan and Ms Marvel fan. She goes to my local comic shop. The owner sold her her first Ms Marvel comic when she was 9 years old. He was SO PROUD she got this role. His shop was loudly promoting this show. Iman Vellani 2023 ended up writing a comic of Ms Marvel for marvel. And she gave a cameo to the owner of the comic shop. His name is Andre And she visited the shop to sign copies of the comic She’s my age, 22. And although I don’t know her, I know some of her friends. It’s like a degree if separate which I find cool. She is literally the embodiment of Kamala Khan. Kamala Khan (as seen in the show and the comics and video game she was in) is a massive fan of super heroes. She draws fan art and writes fan fiction. Ans Iman is exactly like that. When she auditioned they knew right away she was right for the part. And in interviews she’s always talking about how she asks Kevin Feige (president of marvel studios) all her MCU questions and tells him her fan theories She’s so good in her role. She had done some school plays before but this is her first real acting job and she kills it! I love this show!

2025-03-07 23:05:27 +0000 UTCI’m so glad you’re checking this out. It’s one of my favorite shows in my opinion. Jax, meet Iman Vellani from Ontario. This is her first acting role ever. She first heard about the auditions through her aunt. Iman originally didn’t want to become an actress, but she decided to take a chance and audition since she grew up reading the Ms. Marvel comics. She said she would save up her allowance to buy them from a local shop. In fact, she cosplayed as Ms. Marvel for Halloween a few years ago. She even got her grandma to sew the signature lightning bolt to her costume. On her last day of senior year, she got a call from casting director Sarah Halley Finn saying she needed her in a video chat. Next thing Iman knew, she was talking with Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige and the production crew for the show. Kevin himself said it was a unanimous decision.
