Spider-Man Poll!

Hello!! I have a big question for you. According to the MCU Phase 4 release order, after Hawkeye is Spider-Man: No Way Home.

I've been told I should see ALL the Spider-Man movies with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield before watching it.

I SAW THE SPIDER-MAN MOVIES IN THEATERS with the exception of Venom.

(But it's been a while, so I might need to refresh my memory.)

Should I watch them again with you before jumping back into the MCU? Or should I just go straight into Spider-Man: No Way Home? It's your call! I'll have fun regardless of what you pick!

Here are the Spider-Man films:

Comments

please please please react to the other spider-man films! I know that most of the votes just want you to really watch no way home, because it is so awesome, but the old films are also so fun!! They will make for a great collection for your patreon (just like with X-Men)!!

iameNeRG (Rodney Gant)

Wait my bad I thought you only saw the original trilogy but not the amazing ones hmmm. 🤔 difficult lol idk now

Armando Castillo

It definitely makes it necessary to have a full fun experience sure you can watch it and enjoy it but we'd love for you to watch it how we did and geek out at all the references and such. Plus I think we'd have fun to go in this spiderman journey with you 😀

Armando Castillo

If you've seen them then it's not absolutely required, but then again, if you think you'll enjoy watching them again, then I'm pretty sure that we'd enjoy your reactions, so really the most important question is do you want to rewatch them?

Alan Kobb

I don't think a re-watch is necessary, unless you want to.

DracoMint

Enjoy the ride long as you can" I say don't miss out on the adventures and high points to have with us all🫡🌹

Cojuancidence

I like the idea of watching the pitch meetings for all the previous movies!

Darren P

I say take your time Jax and do the rewatches. Us marvel and Spider-Man fans aren’t going anywhere. Especially if it’s been a while and you’ve only seen them once. There’s no rush to me and you only get 1 first time viewing.

Rog

So consider it this way... You don't need to watch the Fox Marvel films to enjoy Deadpool & Wolverine but it adds WAY more to the experience. You don't need to rewatch the previous Sony Spider-Man movies, but having those well in mind will make NWH a far richer experience.

Chris VanLoon

I'd say if anything watch the Everything Great about videos from Cinemawins or watch some kind of recap of those movies. That's a lot of movies to commit to. And Venom isn't really that important.

Ed Scoglio

Agreed, those are amazing

Steve J

I wouldn't mind the rewatches but if rewatching them means we have to wait 1-2 more months for the no way home reaction then I'd just say skip them

AngelAlCapone

It's not 100% necessary, but it will make NWH more enjoyable if you have a refresher. And the old movies are pretty fun too. You don't need to watch Venom. On a side note, if you end up not watching the old movies, I'd vote for watching Spider-man: Into the Spiderverse and Spider-man: Across the Spiderverse after NWH. They are two of the most highly rated pieces of work Marvel has put out, and has some connections with the MCU.

BigBullyBusick

Even though i voted to rewatch all of them if you remember what happened then just react to Venom before NWH, maybe even just watch recap videos if you need a refresh but i am down for you to rewatch all of them they are just so good.

Jasbro

The best reactions are ones that saw the old ones back in the day and seeing this one now

Joseph salazar

As long as you remember the characters, a re-watch isn't necessary, maybe on your own time.

Doug Watson

I'm looking forward to your reaction to NWH personally.

Gideon Zahler

Personally I love the Toby and Andrew Spiderman movies, however, I don't think I'd tell any one who has seen them, even if it was years ago when they came out to re-watch them for No Way Home. So unless she just really wants to re-watch them for nostalgia I don't really see the point. I'm also biased in that I don't watch "rewatch" reactions.

Derder

Rewatch isn’t necessary. You’ll get a bit of a refresher within NWH.

Fulscher89

It is a ticky one. I’d base it on how well you remember them.

eladrin22

Yeah so we are probably saying go to NWH because the re watch or 1st watch before Watch is on every channel. I can imagine the burn out (for us). Buuuut with that said IT IS you though 🙃. So yes a re watch would make the NWH better. And yes I know this comment was not helpful 😁. GL, I'll watch which ever.

Marshariki Bowie

If you've seen the Spider-Man movies already you probably don't need to, but I'd be happy to watch the Sam Raime ones with you anyway if you end up rewatching them.

Kevin Bartelen

But I’d be cool with either one, no need to rewatch if you remember them well enough to remember the important parts of the movies

AJ Franklin

Actually.... you have to add Venom 2 to your list to be complete and understand every situations in NWH

Julien Grenier

don't really need 10-12 hours of movies to do a refresher of the movies. If anything just watch the Pitch Meetings, that would probably be more fun :) Venom is perfectly fine, but very much stand-alone. It's purely a Sony-Marvel movie, so doesn't tie into anything MCU

Steve J

This is a good suggestion too, Jax!

Kay Douglas

Maybe a scheduled live watch along where you're engaging with the chat since you've seen them.

Chris Chatham

It’s up to you and the wisdom of the crowd, but I voted against 5 spider-man rewatches. I’d rather try something different.

Alex Ch

I'm typically not in favor of rewatches, although I'd probably watch these if you did them. But I agree with what several other people have said, do a rewatch on your own if you need to.

Bryan Fritchie

I’ll tie in with what the rest of the crowds are saying… Since you HAVE seen all the other ones… Even if it’s been a long time… I would say that you could probably just watch No Way Home at this point. If you’d like me to, I’ll scrounge up a spoiler free refresher course for you! Then again- you could go ahead and re-watch all of them first as Patreon Re-Watch Exclusives ((less editing work + hype people up with that in the intros of your next couple of videos and let them know all the cool Patreon exclusive things you have “Spiderman, Avatar and More”!)) before you watch No Way Home!

Kay Douglas

Go watch them with a favorite reactor on YouTube for a quick recap! The full details of each movie are not essential. PS I don't think Venom is essential at all.

Rebecca Solomon

Watch, but don’t react. It’ll take forever. And on a side note, you and Ashleigh Burton are the only reactors I know who haven’t checked out the Spider-Verse films yet. You two don’t know what you’re missing.

Aldo Gonzales

if you have seen them but don’t remember then watch them. If not just skip them

Alex Gorell

Since you've seen them already, re-watches aren't needed.

The Dingo

Since you've already seen them, I'm with those who say rewatches are not necessary. A quick trip to wiki to refresh yourself on the plot summaries and cast lists, and you'll be good to go. We'll certainly watch them with you if you think it will bring in new subs, but I don't think rewatches are necessary for YOUR enjoyment of No Way Home.

Michael Kemmet

I think it’ll be fun seeing your reactions to the past Spider-Man flicks

AJ Franklin

as someone who hasn't seen more than maybe 2 of the previous iterations of spiderman movies and even then not for like. a decade. I think having some basis of understanding of the previous spidermen and their histories is certainly useful, but I don't think it's necessarily NEEDED to rewatch 6 whole movies for it. you should absolutely watch them again if you want to, my point is just that no way home is absolutely a movie you can watch with minimal background on spiderman. it absolutely references those movies and moments in them, but I don't personally think it's necessary to have seen them recently as long as you have some understanding. I haven't seen them and only got most of the references through memes I knew, but I still very much loved no way home. venom especially is not at all necessary for probably anything but like a single moment of reference - although I love venom so much and would love a reaction to it anyway

blorbothefrog

If you don't remember them. I'd say rewatch em. No need to watch Venom.

Future_Boy85

i vote go straight to it imo :)

Liam Harrold

Don't bother with Venom. He's not actually in the film, just an end credits scene. They haven't done anything since.

Connor Ellis

I don't hate Venom, but you really don't need it for this.

Aendery2k

If you've seen all of them before, I do not think it's necessary to rewatch them. Maybe just rewatch Spider-Man and The Amazing Spider-Man and watch recaps are read plot summaries for the others.

Mike Smith

Honestly, I think you would definitely have more fun re-watching the old movies. They are just such fun times, and you can never really get tired of spider-man. To rewatch all of the different iterations of Spider-Man and his villains, would probably help a lot.

iameNeRG (Rodney Gant)

Venom is no Bueno. No need to watch.
