Deadpool & Wolverine (Full Reaction)

Hey everyone! Deadpool & Wolverine was one of the most anticipated films of the year. I have been doing my absolute best to avoid spoilers and so I went into this movie knowing very little. What an INCREDIBLE experience this was! This movie was an absolute 10/10.

Synopsis: Deadpool's peaceful existence comes crashing down when the Time Variance Authority recruits him to help safeguard the multiverse. He soon unites with his would-be pal, Wolverine, to complete the mission and save his world from an existential threat.

Watched on: Disney+ / Runtime: 2 : 09: 59 (For some reason Disney+ said my runtime was 2:09:49 seconds when I watched this, but that was just a glitch.)

Deadpool & Wolverine (Full Reaction)

Comments

Chris Evans contract stipulation for doing this cameo was that he got to do that dialogue in the post credits scene... obviously to counter his Cap image a bit and got the fun of it.

Stan Johnston

I'm so happy you enjoyed this! Sounds like you and your brother had a blast. Haha, it was a great car commercial...I just didn't know which car it was for! lol

Jacqueline

I saw this movie back in July with my brother on IMAX and we loved it. I knew your full reaction would be great and it did not disappoint. I'm glad you watched it a bit out of MCU order; I don't think you spoiled yourself on anything major. You cracked me up at the end. "It was an incredible car commercial... It was a Hyundai, right?" I think Honda would disagree!

Mike Smith

One of the big things with this movie that I love is the fact that... in his interview with Happy, he really captures a lot of why I and a lot of other people love Ryan's Deadpool so much. It is that whole sense that while, yes, he is crass, crude, raunchy, and irreverent... it isn't that he doesn't care. He does care... a lot. It's just that life has beaten him down so hard that it is easier to just joke around and make fun of everything than to really just... shoulder the weight of everything. The comedy is how he keeps going, and Ryan does a wonderful job of bringing that to his performance. But yeah, getting to see this in the theater the first time was... an experience in its own right, and it was just phenomenal.

Michael Morris

That's so sad! No, I hadn't seen that. Thank you for pointing that out!

Jacqueline

I agree!

Jacqueline

I forgot about that! I'm glad they were able to use all the footage.

Jacqueline

Ooh, that's so cool!

Jacqueline

That would be awesome!

Jacqueline

And very confusing, at first. It’s almost as if these media giants don’t take your reaction channel into consideration when making decisions. Which is a travesty! 😁

Pete

That is definitely something Johnny would say.

Alvin Baca

Something funny to look for on a re-watch is that, because he doesn't regenerate, Nicepool's superhero suit is actually body armor.

Tim Heron

close. True that Ryan didn't do it but is actually dancer Nick Pauley. Apparently his agent called him and told him to learn the Bye Bye Bye dance, but couldn't tell him why other than "it's big, just do it"

Steve J

You were so excited recognizing Paradox as Mr Darcy! Maybe in a future movie they could have a variant Mr Paradox played by Colin Firth.

Horace Cocroft

My understanding is that Ryan couldn't do the Bye Bye Bye moves right, so he asked Justin Timberlake to do it, and that's Justin for that scene.

Kevin Bartelen

The look of absolute disgust on Jax's face when Vanessa was dating a guy from work. If looks could kill. She said that this is a "feel good movie." I hope she watches another "feel good movie" called Violent Night.

Doug Watson

Jax, did you also see in the credits that kidpool and babypool were Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively's kids Inez and Olin?

Robert Inman

Fox didn't team up with Disney for the outro. The movie side of Fox was sold to disney and became 20th Century Studios. 20th Century Fox doesn't exist anymore.

Connor Ellis

And now for the moment I've all been waiting for: Jax's reaction to Deadpool & Wolverine!!

Doug Watson

I did see it.... she' like "i know thats electra...i know thats blade" vs the out of seat reactions to those who watched the movies previously. There are reactors who didnt see them when originally released but saw them during the lead up and were mind blown. Not sure why the truth bothers you Andrew

Alexander Alayon Jr

Kinda… but she watched all the xmen movies. This movie was a good buy to the fox universe more so than an MCU team up. So she got most of the references anyways. This is the “endgame” of the fox universe But for the mcu not so much

Connor Vide

Lamby is definitely our anchor being.

Cameron

Thanks for the response! Makes sense. And tbh, as you now now since you’ve seen it, it references the fox and non mcu movies way more than the MCU so it’s not that big a deal. It would be a different thing if you watched like Endgame as your second movie for example lol

Connor Vide

...while asking to stop. "It's not good" I believe is what DP says. And yes, I agree with you the MV stuff has gone from fun one or two time gimmick to the crutch of the entire franchise.

Steve J

I feel like I’m the only person who didn’t like this movie. I don’t like the concept of the multiverse and this movie is entirely reliant on it.

Alex Gorell

Yeah Jax it wasn't Ryan dancing, it was a professional dancer called Nick Pauley, he is in the credits as Dancepool, as Aldo mentioned.

Andrew Polinski

Have you even watched Jax's reaction yet, because if you had you would have seen that she got majority of the references. When you say you need to watch this and that before you watch this hurts the reactions anyhow because that automatically says ohh this person makes a cameo. The idea of a cameo is for fan service, for example Blade for us who had watched it when it originally aired would never in a thousand years would have thought he would be in D&W, but Jax wouldn't have the decades of hopes and dreams and what ifs.

Andrew Polinski

Yeah Jax said during her reaction that she remembered that.

Andrew Polinski

Loved the reaction. I don't know if you saw the "dedicated to Henry Delaney" credit at the end, right before the last end credit scene. Henry was the young son of Rob Delaney (Peter/ Peterpool) who died of a brain tumor right after deadpool 2.

Adam Doyle

Just finished watching the Full Reaction. That was @#$% GREAT fun to watch along with you (SOOOooo glad I caught this in my 2nd month membership!! & TLA shows!!). I would recommend a quick YouTube search for "Deadpool & Wolverine song The Tonight Show" I would like to share a bit about "Peter" (Rob Delaney) and the Dedication for Henry Delaney. Henry was Rob's son who passed at 2 years old just before the release of DP 2. Mr. Delaney wrote a book which made the NY best sellers. Ryan made a heartfelt Instagram post about this as well. You were doing the outro and then the salute to Fox going on, I was not sure if you caught it. I want to thank you for your efforts as a content creator I have been watching along since your reaction to Thor. Loved how "Lamby" got the wings and so much more content you have shared. Best wishes through the Thanksgiving holiday with family and friends!! Oh yeah! You going to do "Pitch Meeting" for D&W ?? Take care ~

One of the more enjoyable in theater experiences I've had was for this movie. So so much fun! All the cameos were just so great and some were honestly unexpected for me. Not sure if you know this, but Channing Tatum was attached to a solo Gambit movie for a solid decade if not more. It was a real passion project for him, but it never got off the ground, so seeing him get to finally play the character was very nice! Also Ryan Reynolds was in the 3rd Blade movie and he and Wesley Snipes famously didn't get a long so their "I don't like you." "You never did." exchange landed even better. Loved this reaction!! Glad you did it now instead of having to wait for it!

Ed Scoglio

Sorry that there is a streaming difference. That's so frustrating!

Jacqueline

I'm just about to start watching the reaction so I might be saying something Jax already figured out, but this whole movie is a metaphor for the Fox Marvel movies, the Disney Marvel movies, and the Fox-Disney merger; both in-universe and in the real world. Just a few examples: - The Deadpool universe is Fox and the MCU is Disney(duh ;) ) - Paradox's plan of plucking Wade out of the Deadpool universe and letting the rest die is Disney absorbing Fox and only wanting to keep RR as Deadpool; everything else(X-Men, Fantastic 4, Blade, etc.) is getting rebooted. - Wade opposing Paradox's plan and trying to save the Deadpool universe is actually RR and company when they were convincing Disney that Deadpool needs to stay in his own universe, as he really doesn't tonally fit in the full MCU. Better that he stays in a side universe and just interacts with the MCU from time to time. - So much of the heartfelt dialog between Wade and Logan is really between Ryan and Hugh. "You're the best Wolverine." "Am I going to see you around? - Probably not." etc. The movie feels like a goodbye because it is. While the Fox Marvel movies never had the success of the MCU, it's doubtful the MCU would've succeeded as well as it did without learning from the failures and successes of the 25 years of Fox Marvel films. DP&W is a love letter to all that Fox was and what Fox could have been.

Michael Kemmet

If nobody has mention this, Christ Evans played the human torch in the first Fantastic Four movie. its was a nice surprise.

Isidoro Camacho

i've been waiting for this despite how you've not seen the other films that basically brought the foundation of the mcu glad you still managed to recognise key figures thank you Jax and Lamby

Liam Harrold

Really looking forward to watching your reaction. Although, on the subject of runtimes, I’d be interested to know if there’s anyone else out there who has the same problem we sometimes have in the UK. Some streaming platforms, Sky Movies, for instance, stream movies at 25fps instead of 24fps, for HD comparability reasons apparently, which makes a movie like Interstellar, 10 minutes shorter than it was in the cinema. Which is really, really annoying! Any chance you could talk a little faster, Jax?

Pete

Sorry about that!

Jacqueline

Hi Connor! I was planning on watching it in the MCU release order but it's been the most requested reaction I've had on my YT channel. I've also been trying so hard to avoid spoilers and I was worried if I waited I'd learn too much about the film.

Jacqueline

Watching this out of order is literally like watching Avenger's Endgame out of order 🤔 so many years of references built up!!

Alexander Alayon Jr

Hawkeye is the next MCU show I'll be watching! I've been told it's perfect to watch around December, so that's great timing. The opening credits were fantastic! Seeing Dafne Keen was such a surprise! This movie really stepped it up from previous Deadpool films. I hadn't realized Bye Bye Bye was in another X-Men film! Also, I was wondering if that was Ryan dancing!

Jacqueline

No hate but wondering why you went out of the mcu release order for this movie since you’ve been doing all the movies and shows in order. If you were just too hype for it than I totally get it because it is a great movie. And of course in my opinion it doesn’t spoil much or reference much. Just some minor stuff from Loki season 2. So it’s not a big deal. But it definitely surprised me to see this uploaded so soon considering there is still 7 movies and 8 shows until this shows up. Though now that I’m typing it, that’s quite a lot so I understand wanting to get to it right away

Connor Vide

Now you REALLY need to watch Loki season 2. Certain things happened in the show that actually made an impact on this film. I also hope you make the time for Hawkeye and the Guardians Holiday Special. Something I really appreciated about this movie was the opening credits. Deadpool 1 and 2 had the credits at the very end and I was never a fan of that, but this time they acknowledged everyone just like James Gunn did with the Guardians franchise. The quality took me by surprise because this is a Deadpool movie. Deadpool 1 and 2 were made to intentionally look like total CGI, but with the MCU involved they had to raise the bar. It paid off more than well. What I was most excited for was when you got to see Laura return. Do you remember that Dafne Keen was only a little girl when she worked on Logan 2017? She’s about to turn 20, and after all these years she still got it. Dafne had doubts as to whether she would be able to portray Laura again. Now that she’s back, she actually wants to reprise her role. Also, she’s still wearing the sunglasses from before. By the way, this is the second X-Men film to have Bye Bye Bye. The first one was X-Men 2. That wasn’t Ryan dancing though. This was a pro dancer who needed to come up with the choreo as fast as he could. They ended up calling him Dancepool. We have a few members of the Deadpool Corps to acknowledge: 1.) first, Ladypool was voiced by Ryan’s real life wife Blake Lively. Their kids Inez and Olin got to appear as Kidpool and Babypool. 2.) Cowboypool is probably my favorite variant. He was voiced by Matthew McConaughey. 3.) the floating skull was voiced by Nathan Fillion. 4.) Most of the Deadpools are Canadian, but the most Canadian of them all is Canadapool. He wears a black Deadpool costume with a Canadian flag on his chest. 5.) Zenpool is probably the most unique among the corps. He’s the one in a grey-blue robe shooting blowdarts. 6.) the one with the Welsh flag is Welshpool. He’s portrayed by Paul Mullin from the Welsh soccer club Wrexham FC which is co-owned by Ryan. 7.) Tom Holland’s brother Harold got to join the corps as his own take on the character. They call him Haroldpool.
