Guardians of the Galaxy (Full Reaction)

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend! Here's another From the Vault reaction! It's time for a little Guardians of the Galaxy!!

The guy from Parks & Rec teams up with the lady from Avatar, a CGI Bradley Cooper, and a famous wrestler to keep a mystical orb away from the dude who played Thranduil the Elvenking. It's so fun!!

Watched on: Disney+ / Runtime: 2:02:51 (There's a countdown clock on the left. I say "Play" at exactly 36 seconds into this video. Since this was filmed before I had a Patreon, I didn't have the whole countdown thing down yet!)

❤️🐑🎉

I am FAR less worried about the guy's leg than you are. Peter paid him for it perfectly fairly. As far as I'm concerned the guy was willing to part with his leg for that price, it's now Peter's. I regards to the stones and why you might need more than one. Each stone has it's own unique power. The tesseract (the only one you keep mentioning directly) has the power of travel, hence how Loki used it to travel to earth at the beginning of Avengers. All six together would allow one to utilize all of their powers for a single purpose. What each one is and does will slowly be revealed as you continue watching. Also, also, if we assume that the rules of reality even roughly apply, then Peter wasn't holding his breath. Holding your breath in space will kill you faster than suffocating will. The big concern that we see happening to Gamora and Peter in space with no mask seems to be freezing.

I kept getting her name wrong!! 😅

I saw the movie about ten years ago, when it first came out. It was nice to see it in the context of the Infinity Saga though since there was so much stuff I didn't fully understand.

Jacqueline

Gamora... not Kamora lol

LastStarFighter

You've seen this prior to this recording?

MotoDork

That's awesome! I will think of you now every time I hear that line!

Jacqueline

I didn't even realize he had a dark elf and a Chitauri in cages!! Thanks for pointing that out.

Saddly Howard the Duck (1986) was not very good

David Bourgeois

The character at the very end is Howard the Duck. That was definitely an inside joke for comic fans. My dad had to explain it to me. There is, however, a very old movie starring the character called, predictably, "Howard the Duck." I don't know if enough people would want to watch it to make a Patreon reaction out of it. I only saw it once right after the first time I watched "Guardians of the Galaxy" and I don't remember much of it, but I do remember liking it.

"You're making... me... beat... up... grass!" I have no idea why, given all the great moments the MCU has given us, but that is one of my favorite random parts in all of the MCU. It still makes me laugh even after I've watched this so many times.

The Collector is in the end credit of Thor Dark World when Volstagg and Sif bring him the Aether, because it not safe to have both the Aether and the Tesseract in Asguard. In the Collector cages you can see the russian dog Cosmo, Howard the Duck, a dark elf (from Thor Dark World), a Chitauri (from The Avengers) among other creatures.
