WandaVision S1 E8 (Full Reaction)

Wanda goes on a sad walk down memory lane to discover what prompted her to create the version of reality that exists now. She's been through so much and the way she's coped makes sense. Movies and TV shows can be a great escape when life is too difficult.

If you had Wanda's powers and you could recreate your favorite TV show, what world would you pick? I'd create Stars Hollow from Gilmore Girls. ❤️

WandaVision S1 E8 (Full Reaction)

Comments

That's a good pick!

Jacqueline

More Kathryn Hahn is always best.

Jacqueline

If I could recreate a world… maybe Sesame Street. Seems fairly safe and wholesome but still quirky.

TheEbonyElephant

It's not my absolute favorite TV show, but I would definitely create and live in Republic City from Korra. Also yes, I loved how Agnes/Agatha commanded each scene she was in, and it doesn't even matter if it was before or during or after the reveal. I want more of that. I want more Kathryn Hahn.

Richard Flores

I agree that the acting was great! I love how this show turns the feelings of grief into something we can physically see through Wanda's magic.

Jacqueline

Haha! I love that!

Jacqueline

That's incredible that she was able to stop the Stark weapon from going off with her powers. The tv advertisements make so much more sense now! I love how detailed and layered this show is.

Jacqueline

That is so sweet. They have such a sad relationship and loved each other so much.

Jacqueline

I love that!

Jacqueline

That's a great point!

Jacqueline

My villain era is here!

Jacqueline

That is so cool that Dick Van Dyke consulted on the first few episodes! No wonder it felt so consistent with the sitcoms of the past. I haven't seen that show, so I'll have to check it out! It never occurred to me that he was attempting to recreate her past trauma by launching a missile at her. WOW!

Jacqueline

That is such an amazing line!

Jacqueline

This episode is one of my favorite bits of the mcu. I cannot look at Wanda or vision with out tearing up. Like I'll be rewatching age of ultron and I just will start sobbing.

Alvin Baca

You give me more of a Glinda vibe or maybe even Sabrina.

Joshua E Yee

Lowe’s, they had a sale 30% off vibranium circular saws

Alex Gonzalez

All I want to know is where and how Hayward got the tools to dismantle Vibranium.

Doug Watson

I don't have a conscious ranking of moments in the MCU. However, this episode is one of my favorites. The way it was written and edited; the way it was beautifully acted was just top-notch. I still ugly cry during the scene with Wanda and Vision and their talk about mourning and grief. And then we she explodes in that moment of spontaneous creation, that hit me too. I think anyone who experiences a loss of that magnitude has at least one of those moments when your sadness feels like it explodes out of you and you're not in control. Now for the finale. Make sure to keep the credits rolling. There's both a mid and an end-credits scene.

Marty McGee

And that line from Vision is repeating Wanda's line earlier in the movie when they were in the hotel in Scotland. So it was probably one of their private phrases of love. Which makes, "I can't feel you," even more heartbreaking.

Marty McGee

Yes. Whenever moments of grief occur, remembering lost loved ones, this line now always pops in my mind and helps me through the sadness.

Marty McGee

Oh and if I had wondas power I would either be captain of the enterprise (ncc1701e my fave) or to quote peter quill, I'm going to make some weird sh*t :)

Andy Smith

Yes wonda was a witch without training when she was young, stark weapons don't just fail she subconsciously stopped it going off. When she was exposed to the mind stone in lokis scepter it unlocked her true power. All the tv adverts now also make sense, for example the first one a stark toaster with the red flashing light represented the missile, the strucker watch with the hydra logo was reference to the experiments on herby strucker, the lagos kitchen towel cleaning up the mess is a reference to the building damage she caused at the start of civil war.

Andy Smith

Out of all the reactions I’ve seen, I’ve never seen anyone defend Hayward like you do 😂. This is great

Alex Gonzalez

Possibly the best line in the entire MCU

The Dingo

So two things! First, Dick Van Dyke himself was a unofficial consultant for the first two episodes of the series via lunch with the director. Which is a really fun fact and led to how authentic it felt, as a viewer who occasionally does go back to watch some of those sitcoms. All of Dick Van Dyke is free on youtube btw, last I checked! Second thing! Hayward was absolutely trying to push Wanda into bringing Vision back. Everything he's done is calculated to create a negative reaction in Wanda. I think it goes unrealized by reactors but when Hayward launches a missile at her, it's creating the same exact situation she was in as a child. I wouldn't be surprised if they were also using old Stark tech, so it might have even been the same kind of missile. Talk about triggering. He's lucky Wanda didn't end him right there. Minor final point! Everyone, and I mean everyone, always misinterprets the intercom scene wrong. The doctor pushes the intercom to give Wanda an instruction to touch the stone, not to cut off the other doctor talking about everyone not surviving. It's funny that everyone I've watched comes to the wrong conclusion.

Kiera

"But what is grief, if not love persevering?" lives rent-free in my mind. I love this episode! I agree with you that Agatha has Loki vibes and I wouldn't mind if she stuck around the MCU for a while, like Loki has.

Onno Smits

It's massively heartbreaking and the moment for her when she realizes he's truly gone.

tmazon

I didn't catch that! 😭

Jacqueline

The line where she says, "I can't feel you" is a callback to when she destroyed the stone just before Thanos. Vision told her, "All I feel is you."
