Batman Begins (YouTube Edit)
Added 2023-12-07 19:04:26 +0000 UTCThis was such a wonderful way to kick off The Dark Knight Trilogy! What a phenomenal origin story for an epic superhero! I never really knew much about Batman's story and I love that this interpretation is grounded in our reality. It feels like Bruce Wayne could really exist, hunting villains in the night. The end of this movie created such a great set up to the next one!
Hope you enjoy this! Happy Thursday❤️🐑

I love the Nolan trilogy and the DCEU. Both of them get different things right from the comics. Christian Bale was my favorite Batman until Ben Affleck. I can’t wait for you to continue watching!

2023-12-11 08:17:23 +0000 UTCGood point! The line would have stood out more without the slap. It got a little overshadowed.

2023-12-11 08:17:03 +0000 UTCThanks for being confused by Rachel. She was condescending to Bruce and imo, it implied her acceptance of him is predicated on him submitting to her will. There was zero attempt on her part to attempt to understand or work with him or meet him part way. Great review and analysis as always. 🐑❤️

2023-12-11 05:18:55 +0000 UTCMy surgeries were similar. I don’t recall dreaming. I was awake, aware of the prepping going on by the nurses in the OR and then I was in recovery, unaware any time had passed. It was a brief blip.

2023-12-11 04:28:38 +0000 UTCRight there, that is one of the things I forgot during the full reaction. I forgot to look up "swaddled bat eats banana". Thank you for including that.

2023-12-10 19:51:44 +0000 UTCI agree about Rachel slapping Bruce. In fact, I think the line "your father would be ashamed of you", which is the point of the scene, would have been more dramatic delivered in a cold, controlled way. The slaps make it feel like Rachel is throwing a tantrum.

2023-12-10 06:58:12 +0000 UTCOh! The Narrows side...That makes so much more sense! Thank you Brent. Also, I never would have expected a sedative to work that way. I was put under twilight sleep to get my wisdom teeth removed and I was super groggy for a while. I assume the sedative they gave her was more like yours.

2023-12-09 02:11:11 +0000 UTCThat's awesome that Nolan was able to stay so truthful to the source material! I'm glad I got to see this before continuing with Snyder's DCEU movies.

2023-12-09 02:07:44 +0000 UTCI love that you say that because I can't see this film being any better!
Jacqueline
2023-12-09 02:05:19 +0000 UTCI love that Nolan focused more on Bruce. I agree with you that it's more interesting to watch the man behind the Batman mask. I can't wait for The Dark Knight!

2023-12-09 02:04:50 +0000 UTCOMG! I knew he looked familiar!!!! How is he so empathetic here and so HORRIBLE it GOT?! Hahahaha!
Jacqueline
2023-12-09 02:01:52 +0000 UTCJust an FYI since you expressed some confusion. The scene where Rachel was gassed, he was telling Gordon to meet him on The Narrows side, no the narrow side. The Narrows is a neighborhood in Gotham. He was telling Gordon to meet him on the side of the building that's adjacent to The Narrows. In regards to sedatives, I had minor surgery a few years ago. I was in the middle of a thought when my lights went out, so to speak, and the thought picked up right where it left off when I came to. That might not be a universal reaction, but it was like I went from being fully awake in one room, someone turned out the lights for a fraction of a second, then I was fully awake in a different room. It's not like waking up from being asleep, at least, it wasn't for me.

2023-12-08 18:05:29 +0000 UTCNolan's films are very faithful to the comics, in terms of the characters and Batman's history, while telling their own story. Snyder's Batman is awful. He has an eye for flashy style but really just does not understand the characters he uses in the DCEU.

2023-12-08 07:23:47 +0000 UTCPeople have their personal favorites but I don't think anyone can deny that the Nolan trilogy is overall the best live-action Batman series. The Dark Knight alone is honestly one of the best movies I've ever seen, not just among superhero movies.

2023-12-08 07:15:28 +0000 UTC..ok...one more....Christopher Nolan has said that these movies were more about Bruce Wayne than Batman...which is probably why there is an emphasis on character development. and plot. I would get into discussions with friends about who played the better Batman...and I would tell them "ya put on a costume, make a dramatic/heroic entrance and say "I'm Batman"...that's easy, anyone could do that...but Bruce Wayne?...that's where the real character is"...great reaction, looking forward to the next one. The Dark Knight is a movie I watch once every year or so...it's just that good....to me anyways.

2023-12-08 06:40:56 +0000 UTC...the kid who Batman gives his Bat=scope to....wound up being Joffery Lannister in GAME OF THRONES...and if ya haven't seen that....well....I just wasted a comment...:)

2023-12-08 06:09:34 +0000 UTCHi Eddie! I'm looking forward to comparing all of the Dark Knight trilogy movies together to see which one is my favorite. This was a fantastic introduction to Batman, but I think I'm going to enjoy the next movie even more. Also, I think you're right about setting bones. It's a delicate process that needs an expert.
Jacqueline
2023-12-08 04:55:53 +0000 UTCThank you so much for watching!!
Jacqueline
2023-12-08 04:53:26 +0000 UTCI forgot how good this movie was. I think because I super enjoy the Dark Knight it overshadowed this one for me. Also, I could be wrong because I'm not a doctor either; but if reset a bone incorrectly you might make it worse. So it should probably be done by people with extensive medical training.
