WandaVision S1 E1 (Full Reaction)

This show is throwing me for a loop! I have been wracking my brains trying to figure out what is going on. The last shot of this episode was a real shock and turned everything upside-down. Wanda and Vision are living in a vintage TV show and all is not right in their world. I'm so excited to keep watching this and see how this story progresses.

The laugh track...the commercial for a toaster...what does it all mean!?

Comments

Easter Egg as Toaster was from Age of Ultron when Pietro was blaming Tony Stark for destruction of their home in childhood when Tony was just arms dealer before Iron Man. (It said Stark Industries on Toaster if you check again)

Vihar Chaudhari

Gotta be familiar with the comics in order to not be confused here and even then you never know which parts they would use or not. At the time I knew parts of what was going on, but not all of it.

DracoMint

There are no sheep jokes for the full reactions. Only the edited ones. But, I might not put them in for super short TV shows.

Jacqueline

So fun to revisit this series with you! 🔥oh! No sheep jokes for the tv shows? They’re SO clever! But I guess everyone needs a break now and again. On to episode two!

TheEbonyElephant

That is so cool they filmed this in front of a live audience! I thought it was just an ordinary laugh track that they were playing. That must have been such a change up for the actors. This show leaves me with so many more questions. I can see why you would deep dive into theories on YouTube to get answers as to what as going on.

Jacqueline

Oh okay, thank you!

Jacqueline

Thank you! I'll be clue hunting during the commercials!

Jacqueline

Thank you! The commercials do seem to be trying to hint at something.

Jacqueline

I've been enjoying it so far! Here's to hoping this mystery starts unraveling itself!

Jacqueline

It's a slow burn! Hopefully, it will all be worth it!

Jacqueline

The commercials have been throwing me for a loop! They were so unexpected.

Jacqueline

It makes sense that some of the clues are misleading! It's been a bit difficult to follow so far, even though I'm enjoying it. I can only imagine how fevered the debates were when this came out!

Jacqueline

Hahahaha!

Jacqueline

What a bummer you didn't enjoy it! I don't mind the sitcom aspect of it. But I completely understand how it would rub someone the wrong way.

Jacqueline

"Is TOAST the villian of this story!?" That needs to go on a tee shirt. I'm putting that on a tee shirt. Your royalty check is in the mail.

Getoff Mylawn

I 100% get what they're doing. Wanda and Vision are some of my favorite characters in the MCU. But I *despise* sitcoms and camp...this was well made, but just awful. SO much cringe. I've seen the whole thing, and I don't care how good it might or might not be. Nothing is worth sitting through sitcom cringey-camp.

Wareck

When this first came out I would be so confused I'd watch an episode of WandaVision then have to watch an hour of youtube discussion on it to hear their breakdown of the episode, the easter eggs they spotted, and their speculation about what it means. So I understand your confusion. FYI - the first episode was filmed in front of a live audience, so I don't think it was a laugh track.

Tanya O'Donnell

I’m so excited you’ve started Wandavision! If it’s not too late, this is one of those shows where it’s a good idea to watch several episodes at a time… 1-3, 4-6, 7-9

Geoff Pennington

Thanks for your reaction! Enjoy WandaVision. Commercials are so strange when you watch the first times. But they have a meaning.

Wreath35

Loved your reaction! Make sure you pay close attention to the commercials. You might be pleasantly surprised!

Rainbow Dash

So excited that you are watching this! Hope you like it as much as I did!

Gideon Zahler

I'm so excited for Wandavision! ah yes the commercials, they're one of the things I find enjoyable in the series XD

Kristine

I can't believe I have to wait till Friday to see your reaction to ep2.

Horace Cocroft

When WandaVision came out, there was SO MUCH discussion and argument about what was going on and what it meant. It'll all make sense though, in time. There are a lot of little clues, but some are misleading, because the creators of this show wanted to keep us guessing.

Robin Wise

Ooh ahh... I'd like to see this one. This one "tasks" some viewers, I mean it challenges some viewers. But I like that...

Mannygogou

The first time watching episode one I felt very similar: What the freak was that? -- “Only he didn’t say freak…”(Rocket)

NotMyRealName

Buckle up!

Chris (darkwater)

All I can say is to have patience and enjoy the episodes for what they are. Which will become clearer as the season progresses. The payoff is phenomenal. Oh, and to add to what someone commented previously, not only was this filmed in front of a live studio audience, but the effects were almost entirely practical (the kitchen stuff floating around was done with wires and fishing line, not purely digital effects) - all part of giving it that old-timey vibe.

Oliver Higgs

That is so cool! I thought it was just a laugh track!

Jacqueline

i want to answer so many of your questions but can't without spoiling it. Just keep an eye on details especially in the commercials because the one in this episode about the toaster was made by stark industries and had a red blinking light with a beeping sound. A lot of little details present themselves in commercial form on here

Kendall Brown

This is such a great show. It's the lynchpin for just about everything coming after.

Chris_The_Gray

Be aware, some of the episodes have mid- and/or post-credit scenes. Also, interesting note: This was literally filmed in front of a live studio audience, not just a pre-recorded laugh track.

Onno Smits

What? Wanda and Vision have moved to the suburbs and are trying to live a normal life while concealing their abilities from their new neighbors which leads to some wacky hijinks. Seems perfectly normal and on the level to me.

Ryan

Don’t worry, you are having the same reaction that we all had. None of this will make any kind of sense for a few more episodes. Just enjoy the ride.

Al Batista

This is indeed a weird show, also very good one, but there's no way to answers your questions without spoiling things so you'll have to wait and see :-D

David Bourgeois

Agreed! This seems really experimental so far, but I'm enjoying it.

Jacqueline

In retrospect, having watched the whole show a few times now, I do think it suffers from pacing issues. Its a little too slow, and ends up feeling rushed by the end because they spent so much time on the slow slow slow burn.

Lee Aguera

A cool thing about the MCU for me, is how they always show us a different and unexpected look. This one is really out there, but it’s key to understanding the new, post-Endgame MCU. I’m really glad you are watching it, and posting your excellent reactions.

Gideon Zahler

It's a great slow burn reveal. The dinner scene is especially chilling on repeat viewings

Ed Scoglio

It will become clearer as you get into the episodes.
