First of all, happy to see you posting stuff again. I hope life is treating you well! Second of all what you said about skipping the bumbling around everyman portion is what I've been saying superhero movies should be doing for years. I know, I know Johnny Batman's parents died, I know Superb Man is an alien who crashed on earth and was raised by farmers. We don't need to hear a characters' origin story, it's totally, wholly unnecessary for a good book or film or whatever. Especially when you're talking about extremely popular, well known characters who the vast majority of people will already know about. So I'm happy to hear this film doesn't waste time with that, and I also appreciated you mentioning the issues a more traditionally done romance subplot can cause.
