Well we finally did it gang, 100k strong. First and foremost while there are 100k subscribers, there are only a few hundred of you guys, and regardless of subscriber count on Youtube, you guys right here on Patreon are the real ones. Clicking a subscribe button is easy, actually going the extra step and supporting the work of someone you like financially is a lot harder.
Still, it is nice to hit a big milestone like that. It's pretty hard to believe even still. I always go back to those first videos where I'd write a script in a half hour, record it on a microphone that was facing the wrong way, and edit for maybe an hour, and considered that an acceptable piece of entertainment for public consumption. In fact one of my first ever attempt was something that never got any views and I believe I may have nuked it in sheer embarrassment, a 6-7 minute long piece of shit attempt at a podcast I called "Face the pain-cast". There was no script, no editing, just talking absolute bollocks and assuming it was good enough to make people want to listen. Also goes without saying this was recorded on a backwards facing microphone, with none of the adjustments an audio clip needs to make it sound like it wasn't recorded on a ham sandwich. It's honestly a wonder I ever stuck with making videos at all.
As a deep cut for all you guys, here's the very first MMA themed video I made, way back in 2017. It's not good, the editing is weak, and its just a 3 minute shitpost about Brenda Schaubs fawning over McGregor during the May-Mac lead up.
but I guess my point with telling you this is that if any of you are struggling with creating stuff, and maybe feel like your art isn't good enough, and you'll never have any success, just stick with it. Don't worry if your first attempts fall flat. Eventually you'll find your audience.
TUF Talk!
Alright! TUF Talk! So it's pretty much confirmed now that this is going to be a fucking LOOOOOONG video. Im 50+ minutes deep now, and just did some Season 13 chat. But season 13 of TUF was garbage, and the only good thing that came out of it was Tony Ferguson, so I couldn't talk about S13 without doing a bit of a dive on Tony, and the cursed matchups with Khabib/madness of UFC 223 caused by that electrical cable, etc.
I just feel with this one it's going to be a bit like part 3 of pride, trying to wrap things up and do a kind of "where are they now" ending for TUF contestants, so it probably will end up about 90 minutes or more I'd say. But its coming along well, and I kinda have a better mental roadmap of where I want it to go and what it's endpoint will be now.
Anyway that's all for now! Sadly I dont have much more to say as I really have been ding very little but working on the video the last week. I only watched the Cryil Gane fight from UFC Paris, it was good! Gane looked great, and I am excited for this Max Holloway-esque phase of his career.
Take care all, and just bleed
