The NTO novelization blazes back, yet again, along with the new site and hopefully a return to something closer to normalcy

Starting in September, I started picking at the NTO novelization. Again. I love writing, way more than I love the work of drawing if not sequential art, and the fact is I functionally quit prose writing almost 10 years ago. It is so fun, though, and I love it.

Longtime Patrons will recall that twice (more?) I have apologetically posted snippets and excerpts from this when I'd intermittently revisit it to scratch my prose writing itch and keep me invested in this story that I've been working on for over a decade now and would otherwise be getting fairly bored with. It was first or at least deeply early draft stuff, and I posted it in an extremely scattershot way, with chunks of chapters excerpted sort of at random and reposts and whatnot. It'd be difficult to find and read straight through, anyway. Following this post, I'm going to follow up by posting 3 chapters from the novel, starting with the first, in their entirety. They're weirdly numbered because I'm an iconoclast so I don't know; I'll try to make the sequence clear somehow. If you've read these before, apologies. I can't confirm or deny whether these are the versions you read. You might want to brush up. Big ol' shrug emoji. I'll tag these "novel" for easy searching.

If you're groaning about why aren't I working on the comic itself, well, I am. Page 2 of book 13 is almost done. I am circling closer to a return to a regular update schedule but I'm not ready to recommit to promised weekly updates on Sunday or any other day. I'd prefer more than weekly but I'm just not managing it just yet. There's been some bemoaning of me having confirmed book 13 is the last, but I am here to tell you book 13 is so goddamn long it doesn't feel like I'm nearing the end, to me, at all. The one-location-per-chapter format necessitated this all be one "chapter", but it's double the length of almost any other, including some of the stupidly long 30+ page chapters I've done recently.

I'm also almost done with a new page of Cutter & Ironwood! Remember that? No? Well I don't blame you. Also also! I've written a new one, which is, properly, Cutter & Ironwood #1. It is closer to full length, with an actual story vs a reskin of a 24 hour comic with a JHH cameo shoehorned in.

I love you. Happy Holidays.
