Spectre's Chronicles: Chap #23

"GKRAHHHHH!!!" With a primal growl, the Lizard revealed his presence...

"HOLY SHIT, DR. CONNORS, HOW MANY DOSES DID YOU INJECT YOURSELF!?" Peter said, stupefied by the 10 feet monster Lizard he was seeing.

"Peter Parker... and you..." the Lizard hissed, venom dripping from his words as he locked eyes with the two vigilantes. Carefully dropping the Ganali Device that he was holding on the ground from where he came from.

The Lizard stood up while making a deep guttural sound, towering over the two humans in front of him. With an amused look, he obtained something from his shoulder bag.

"I can taste your detestable scents from miles away... I had expected to feel anger upon seeing the two of you, but instead, I find myself relieved..." He spoke with a sinister smile. Taking the contents from his bag with his right arm, a vial with green liquid inside it revealed itself.

"After all, the two of you will be more than enough to witness how I changed this accursed world." The Lizard said while moving his body in a crouching position, his extremely sharp claws sinking into the ground with ease.

Clutching the vial tightly, the Lizard crushed it against the ground, unleashing a dense cloud of green smoke that enshrouded his entire body, leaving only his scaly face visible as he hissed, "Rejoiced..."
................

Swiftly evading the green smoke cloud created by the Lizard, I rushed towards Peter and swiftly attached another one of my masks to his face. The mechanism activated, covering his face, but instead of concealing his Spider-Man mask, the mirror mask turned translucent.

"Thanks, man!" Peter expressed his gratitude as he utilized his webbing to propel himself toward the Lizard for a powerful kick.

"Idiot!" I cursed, manipulating a fragment of the mirror, I severed his web and halted his momentum. Creating a mirror barrier between him and his intended target, Peter looked at me with confusion.

"Hey, wha--" Peter began to question, but before he could finish, the barrier suddenly shifted. The mirror barrier hurtled backward, veering away from its intended path. As Peter turned his gaze towards the unexpected diversion, his eyes widened in shock.

The Lizard, with his skin seamlessly blending into the surroundings, unleashed a powerful slash right where Peter was supposed to be. The forceful strike left behind a deep gouge on the rooftop, sending shattered debris flying in all directions.

"HE CAN TURN INVISIBLE?!" Peter exclaimed in shock.

"Can't you see he got upgraded!? Make some space away from him and slow him with your web, I'll deal damage from long range." Understanding the urgency of the situation, I conjured a mirror platform beneath my feet, allowing me to levitate and gain a vantage point.

"On it!" Peter responded, swinging into action. He quickly fired webs, aiming to ensnare the Lizard and impede his movements. While circling the Lizard around with his web, I made my action.

Enclosing my palm, the surrounding mirror around me converged into a one-dense construct, lightening my surrounding with gold light.

Truth be told, I created this move in an accident, in the process of me finding out how I was able to manipulate the mirror dimension from outside of its reality, I've come to encounter a rather peculiar energy. The Mirror Force.
...........................

[Flashback]

Meditating, meditating, meditating...

"Hmmm..." The sound of my hum reverberated around the Mirror Dimension along with the ambient clicking and cluttering sounds of the mirrors echoed all around me.

The reason why I'm meditating inside the Mirror Dimension instead of in a nature-friendly environment, such as the top of a mountain or in the middle of a forest, is that the Ancient One instructed me to do so.

She mentioned that I need to acclimate myself to the Mirror Dimension in order to gain enlightenment about my abilities as the ruler of this realm.

It seems that being immersed in this environment will facilitate a deeper understanding and connection with my powers, something along those lines.

However, the only question in my mind is that I still have no fricking idea why the Ancient One gave me a 6 hours duration of meditation compared to my only 2 hours of reading books, and 2 hours of physical and magical training.

Yes, I knew that meditation could help with my practice in astral projection and my mental capacity, but it still doesn't connect anything to my abilities or me being the ruler of the mirror dimension.

'All of this seemed...pointless...'  I thought to myself, my brow furrowed in confusion, still in the midst of my meditative pose.

"Something troubling your mind, young Lucas?" a familiar voice broke through my thoughts, causing me to snap out of my contemplation.

I turned to find the Ancient One standing behind me, a playful smile on her lips. Irritation welled up within me.

"Master... Care to enlighten me on why I need more time to meditate than to actually learn something?" I voiced my frustration, settling back into my meditative posture.

"Oh, I thought you would have figured it out by now. It seems I overestimated the great cameraman," the Ancient One teased, her smile widening. Growing tired of my original title, she had come up with a new nickname for me, evident in her playful tone.

"Figure out what? All I've noticed is how nauseating the Mirror Dimension can be! Do you have any idea how much I've vomited, master?" I retorted, my exasperation evident as I gestured toward the spot where I had regrettably emptied my stomach.

"The Mirror Dimension is you're home, Lucas. It's part of you. It's only obvious that you need to know everything little thing about it, including how it works and it's purpose... not only in our universe, rather, the entire multiverse itself..." the Ancient One explained, her gaze fixed on my face, observing my reactions.

"An uncharted territory that we know frighteningly so little. But the twist is that the Mirror dimension isn't moving by itself. I believe you know the term that energy can neither be created nor destroyed - only converted from one form of energy to another, correct, young Lucas?"

"The law of conservation of energy, yes, I know that, but what does that have to do with the Mirror Dimension...?" I inquired, my confusion deepening. Then, as if a light bulb had appeared above my head, my eyes widened in realization.

"I'll give you more time to think, young Lucas. It seems that you will need it," The Ancient One said mysteriously, her voice carrying a hint of amusement. With a graceful gesture, she opened a shimmering portal and stepped into it, disappearing from my sight.

"The Mirror Dimension has its own... energy?" I uttered while pondering my thoughts.

'If that's the case, then... how do I control that energy.' With those thoughts running in my head, I was able to come up with something... and that is by meditating.
......................

[Present]

And as I expected, it worked. Meditating did indeed help me in figuring out how to harness the energy that I deem to be called Mirror Force. And I'm just beginning to uncover the mysteries that lie deep within its concept.

As the golden wisp of energy covered with the converged mirror construct that is situated between the palm of my hands, I felt the unstable energy creep its way within my body.

Right... I haven't told you its cons yet. Well, let's just say that overdosing myself with the Mirror Force can have a negative effect on my body, and that side effect is me being a... man made of literal mirror. Tada~

Gradually, my hands that made contact with the energy began to transform into silvery mirrors, reflecting everything and everyone around me. The longer I hold onto this power, the more my body becomes engulfed by it.

Hence, with a swift burst of determination, I aimed my palm, directing the charged, converged mirror construct toward the Lizard, who was wreaking havoc and relentlessly attacking Peter. Thankfully, Peter's agility and reflexes allowed him to evade the Lizard's assaults with remarkable precision.

"You ready yet?!" Peter exclaimed, his voice filled with urgency as he evaded the Lizard's relentless assault. Then, as if in response to his plea, Peter's spider sense heightened to an unprecedented level, causing him to instinctively leap away from the Lizard.

And true to his precognition, a converged mirror construct descended upon the Lizard with great speeds, hitting him directly above his head.

A radiant burst of golden energy enveloped the Lizard, entrapping his entire form within a mirror-like construct, rendering him immobile.

"GRAAKKKHKKK!!!" The Lizard bellowed in agony, his body writhing and contorting as the mirror construct relentlessly punctured and sliced through his flesh.

Despite his struggles to break free, the construct held him firmly in place, relentlessly penetrating his flesh. But, with each spasm of his brawn strength, the construct began to crack and splinter, evidence of his immense strength raising the question of how long it could hold him in place before shattering completely.

"Keep him restrained with your webs!" I shouted, urging Peter to encase the Lizard in a web cocoon. While he carried out my command, I swiftly made my way toward the nearby nitrogen tanks, recalling the moves of Captain Stacy in my mind.

"I'll need to borrow your moves, Captain Stacy..." I muttered to myself, forming dozens of sharp mirror constructs in my hand.

Taking aim at the nitrogen tanks, I prepared to unleash a powerful strike. However, before I could release the construct, a sudden cry of pain erupted from the direction of the Lizard causing me to widen my eyes.

"ARGGH!"
