Aloha John,
Oishi desu ne? I'd love to try all the Matcha. We have oishi matcha ice cream here in Hilo, Hawaii.
Thanks for making pretty much every single day better!
I have been waiting through all of this to get surgery. Soon!
What do you think of the 1000 paper cranes at age 60?
Do people in Japan celebrate big time at their 60th birthday? Or is that s Hawaii thing?
I helped fold 1000 paper cranes for long life for my previous mother in law here in Hawaii. We had a big party for her with a banquet & all of her friends. Maybe it helped? She is 93 in December 2020.
Also, I used to volunteer in S. Lake Tahoe, Ca as a wedding witness for Japanese weddings. It was cheaper about 1994-1998, & less obligations to be married in California where most people couldn't attend. What obligations happen with traditional weddings? Why would a couple want to travel away from family to the US to get married? Is this still a thing?
It was a lot of fun!
Take care, Kai
