Chapter 3: The Fishing Cheat Never Fails

Lott thought for a moment about the available food options and could only come up with hot pot as a suitable choice.

"If you don't want to eat barbecue, how about trying something new, have you guys heard about hot pot?"

Although there were no chili peppers in this era's Britain, when he reincarnated, Lott had been gifted with his own cheat, just like many other characters from those japanese or chinese comics.

However, the cheat that Lott got after being reincarnated was not particularly useful, it’s called "The Fishing Cheat Never Fails."

This cheat allowed Lott to carry a fishing rod into the river of time and fish out any item that could have appeared in any era at random, from the start of the world, the Primordial God Era, to the end of time itself.

However, the item that he would fished out could not exceed the fishing rod's weight limit, and the fishing rod had to be within Lott's ability to use, so he can’t just fish out a Death Star.

Materials science in this era was quite primitive, and even bamboo was not readily available. The only material available for making a fishing rod was wood with good flexibility. Therefore, the size of the items fished out using such materials was limited.

Just like the name of his cheat, the cheat never fails to bring him stuff, but that does not mean that Lott would get anything he desired.

For example, he once fished out a fossil. In the modern era, perhaps it could be sold for some decent amount of money, but in this era of heroes, what use could that be?

At other times, he fished out a mobile phone. However, there was no signal or network available at this point of time. What good was it then?

Therefore, Lott had many items that were useless, he had so many to the point that the only thing he can do with them is to keep them in his castle.

Technological advancements and the development of productivity of civilizations have never been dependent on a few small items. Moreover, Lott was nothing but a liberal arts student in his previous life, so the items he fished out were mostly used to improve his life.

For example,thanks to the surplus useless items that he had, now he could sit around eating a  hot pot together with his lovely wife-to-be Morgan and the Grand Caster Candidate Merlin himself.

"Is this thing really edible?"

Morgan's lips trembled as she looked at the reddish soup in the pot, at this moment, Morgan took off her veil and revealed her full face.

Lott, who is focused on his soon-to-be wife's face nodded his head in confirmation.

‘As expected, she had a Saber face too.’

‘Wait, Morgan is the elder sister, so shouldn’t it be more accurate to say that Artoria have a Morgan Face?’

At that moment, while thinking a bunch of useless thing, Lott found the way that Morgan is hesitating on whether to eat or not to eat is very adorable.

"Give it a try. Trust me, bringing harm to you would do me no good.” He spoke gently to Morgan.

The assurance of Lott made Morgan slightly more at ease, and at the same time, she looked at the food and utensils in front of her with the same curiosity as before.

‘How did Lott learn all of these things?’

Morgan felt her curiosity growing stronger, she wanted to explore Lott's thoughts again.

But the exhaustion that she felt mentally told her that she needed rest before she could hear his thoughts again.

At the very least, her hunch told her that she needed to wait until tomorrow before she can do it again, so, for now, she should just enjoy the meal.

Next to her, Merlin had already started eating, although it was his first time using chopsticks, for some unknown reason, something that is very likely to be magical, Merlin knew very well how to use them.

The Court Mage of Urther picked up a piece of lamb and put it in his mouth, and the spicy sensation filled his mouth instantly.

"Mm, not bad," said Merlin with a grin.

Seeing that Merlin was eating the soup without any problems, Morgan also felt at ease. She followed Merlin and Lot's example, picked up a piece of meat with her chopsticks, and put it in her mouth.

Then, Morgan froze.

"Ah, it's so spicy!" she exclaimed in dismay.

After making that sound, Merlin chuckled in satisfaction.

Hearing her words, Merlin laughed out loud and said. "Some things are just not acceptable to the Britons of this era."

"I'm sorry, this is my fault. How about you try the clear soup instead?" Seeing the girl panting in pain, Lott also felt sorry for Morgan and said so.

"Okay."

Morgan nodded lightly, then, she picked up a piece of lamb in the clear soup, she dipped it in the sauce a few times, then put it in her mouth again, then, a smile appeared on her face.

"Not bad."

Even in the future, Great Britain had not produced any great cuisine. And the diet of this era's Great Britain was even worse. Lot's seasonings were all brought from the future, which was undoubtedly a massive improvement compared to other food from this era. So, when Morgan ate it, she felt it was extremely delicious.

Thus, she began to continue eating the food with a smile, however, she was at least far from being comparable to her sister in a certain aspect.

If her sister were here instead, let alone the meat, the pot itself would probably have disappeared before Lott could blink.

And Merlin, at some point, had left very tactfully without anyone knowing.

Now there were only Morgan and Lott left, looking at the two of them, Morgan wanted to talk to Lottt about her sister's situation earlier, but she opened her mouth and didn't know how to start.

"What's wrong?" Lott spoke to Morgan.

"Um..." Morgan thought for a moment, then said to Lott, "I'm just curious about your things. Obviously, they don't come from Britain. Did you create them yourself?"

"Well, that's a man's secret," Lott didn't want to explain this topic to Morgan.

Although his cheat wasn't very strong, it wasn't something he could easily talk to others about. If someone found out about his Cheat, he would lose a valuable card that can save his life, and that was definitely not something he wanted.

Seeing that the other man wouldn’t answer, Morgan continued to ask Lott, "So, do you have more interesting things?"

She wanted to know more about Lott and to verify the accuracy of what he had said today through indirect questioning.

And, if what he said was true, she also needed to come up with a solution. There were some things she couldn't give up on.

"Well, when we get back, I'll show you more," Lott looked at Morgan and smiled.
