Saw her live in 2019 in the basement of a tea shop in north London. It was the European tour for this album, the tickets were £6 and about 30-40 of us were all seated on the floor with our legs folded watching a little stage with a stool a mic and a guitar. She came down the same stairs we all did from the back in a translucentish black dress and wafted between us like a ghost towards the stage. She tried to tell the story to us in English even though she barely spoke any, she relied on two Japanese speakers in the front row to bridge the gaps but printed out lyric sheets and little drawings depicting the entire story. Surreal experience. By far the best £6 pound I’ve ever spent and one of the most unique concert experiences I’ve had. Lovely review! AVAA edit: I did not know her lyrics were in a made up language, but it’s always been more about the feeling
