Tangential: working notes on direct air carbon capture

This isn't directly related to Quantum Country.  It's a small private side project Michael carried out, which may perhaps be of interest to some of you. It's his working notes on the cost of direct air carbon capture as an approach to climate change:

Hard to sum up the conclusions briefly, but: it left him quite a bit more optimistic about climate!

I forgot to write: not just solar-powered quantum nano machines: solar-powered quantum nano von Neumann machines...

Yes! My bet is that trees are in practice probably a better approach than the kind of DAC I was talking about - the C4 pathway and genetic engineering show particular promise. But for the style of analysis in my notes they're not an easy target. It's too easy to get bogged down in cost estimates (which are very disputed), and also in questions about land use, which will be orders of magnitude higher than DAC.
