Hard to sum up the conclusions briefly, but: it left him quite a bit more optimistic about climate!

My bet is that trees are in practice probably a better approach than the kind of DAC I was talking about - the C4 pathway and genetic engineering show particular promise. But for the style of analysis in my notes they're not an easy target. It's too easy to get bogged down in cost estimates (which are very disputed), and also in questions about land use, which will be orders of magnitude higher than DAC.
