Oh sure, absolutely! Makes total sense. In fact, I do kind of wish they just made a special EP with the Born To Be final versions. The new songs stand on their own very well.

2024-10-29 00:25:41 +0000 UTCi think what they meant was the earlier songs (the songs from the Gold album) sound more better and LESS generic than the songs from the Born To Be album. So basically in ITZY’s new album they obviously added the “final versions” songs of the BTB album WITH new tracks aswell (ex: Imaginary Friend). What I think they meant was that now that they listened to the FULL NEW album WITH the old BTB songs, they prefer the new songs from the new album instead of the songs from the BTB album. Regardless whether Lia is in the song or not. Does this make sense? They’re basically calling the new album better bc it makes the songs from BTB more generic

2024-10-25 07:33:18 +0000 UTCThe “generic” comment kind of threw me off a bit, so I’ll try and explain as best I can. People have long said since their debut that Lia didn’t deserve the main vocal position, claiming she didn’t possess the same power and grunt that Yeji, their lead vocalist, has. And I think that stems from the fact that kpop fans are so conditioned to think that a main vocalist HAS to have a high, powerful, belty, almost almost girthy type voice. In an industry full of female main vocalists who are hard hitting sopranos, Lia is a mezzo with a strong lower range. She doesn’t fit the mold of what people think a main vocalist, especially a female one, is supposed to be, which is what throws people off. And in such a powerful, dance-heavy, energetic group like ITZY, Lia is that final puzzle piece that makes them feel complete, in my opinion. She gives ITZY an extra level of depth. Do not get me wrong, the originals slap, but I think the reason they hit so hard is because Yeji, Ryujin, Chaeryeong, and Yuna had to all step up to fill in that gap in the absence of their main vocalist. And now, with the OT5 versions, Lia can fill in that spot that was made for her. Her sweet, honey like voice is that final piece that makes ITZY ITZY. And she can be powerful; listen to the Crazy in Love album, specifically the song “Love is”. I know it may take getting used to, but trust me when I say that she’s essential to their overall sound. You two know how much I love you and your vids, and I know you meant no harm. And don’t let my long rant deter you from having an opinion, of all things. We all will have and should be free to have opinions on songs, groups, etc. I just wrote this before other people may get riled up. Keep doing what you’re doing!
