Stan Rogers & Unleash the Archers - Northwest Passage

Stan Rogers reminds me of a more musical version of Bob Dylan. I know this sounds like I am taking a jab at Dylan, but vocally speaking, Stan just has such a lovely voice with beautiful vibrato. The a capella style of this song that is describing the history and landscape of Canada is gorgeous. It's sad the Stan was lost so soon at the age of 33.

Unleash the Archers, who I just found out are from Canada, did an AMAZING job of paying homage to Stan by creating a unique experience for the listener and the viewer. The musical build up was great and expected, but the way they manipulated each verse and chorus next after next...brilliant. Just...brilliant!

It took more for time that it should to think about czech storytelling interpret. Karel Kryl. He wrote a song about soviet occupation in 1968, emigrate during music festival in west germany 1969. Salome and Psalm 71 are my favorite. Salome - https://youtu.be/oXFL_F2X5JQ?si=zxK_qzn-WPT0O2b3

I've only heard ..Archers once or twice before. I liked them....didn't know they were Canadian, though. Based on what I've heard from Stan Rogers, I feel he's more akin to the older, more traditional folk singers like Pete Seeger, Woody Guthrie....even more so to the Irish singers like The Clancy Brothers or The Dubliners. Bob Dylan I would liken more to Gordon Lightfoot, although I would liken Jim Croce to Lightfoot as well.
