Rock Is A Lady's Modesty, S.1, Ep.9 - Lady Ver: "It's Finally Our Turn"/Rock Ver: "You're All Too Loud"

It may have started off "rough," but it ended with the girls going out with a bang!

And regarding the orgasmic playing ๐Ÿ˜‰ I've heard it from my musician friends, actually. They told me that it's not uncommon for musicians literally to have an orgasm while playing live. I have never been to such a concert, to be honest, but watching now this anime, I recall those talks. BAND-MAID does it differently, of course. Their music is not so sensual. It's not "wings of passion," it's rather a "stairway to heaven," which you climb together with them. The creator of the anime was talking about a different mode of musicianship. The Maids embraced this approach and played accordingly, but they themselves disapprove of this approach, it's clear.

I just realized you may have never heard "Want more!" Here's the link: https://1drv.ms/u/c/9d9a5f8674a10653/EVMGoXSGX5oggJ1DIgYAAAABN59qrWsjx0MCVxXGy8Xs7w?e=cyJHcd

Well... Let's be honest. The music they have chosen to play is really boring. I would say, it could have been OK if they would use those old "prog rock" compositions to show their development as a band, and then they would play "from now on," for example. Or "Want more!", that instrumental which Kanami shared through her Dropbox back in 2020 on the Maid Day. It's an obscure instrumental BAND-MAID never played live or released officially, but it's still hundred times more catchy than what they choose to cover. Or, if they wanted some old masterpiece of the prog rock classics, they may have played "Theme One" by George Martin, which The Beatles never played, but it was covered by Van der Graaf Generator: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUD-o8ebcF4 Although it's keyboard+sax+drums. Tina/Saiki would not be able to play it, of course. And they have no sax in the band. But Kanami could have definitely rearrange it for guitar and a stripped-off keyboard support, I'm absolutely sure. I'm rather surprised people even call this "Ghost Dance" a prog rock. Although this term can mean a lot of different things to different people. Very often people say something is "prog rock" when in reality it sounds to me like free jazz or something like this. Well, actually they did everything correctly in the plot: in the end Lilisa goes through an important realization and starts playing really crazy, and Otoha supports her in the best possible way. And Shiraya finally breaks a sweat ๐Ÿ˜‰ Which demonstrates very clearly that it does not matter WHAT you play, but rather HOW you play. BAND-MAID can cover anything, it seems, making it into a masterpiece. In the same way as when Metallica covered a lot of their favourite bands on Garage Days, Inc., making all those boring songs into masterpieces.
