not to diss on B&E but inflation is definitely tied to oil. Working in the construction industry as a business owner i see it first hand. Diesel prices cause price increases in freight and logistics, thus increasing prices on groceries and construction materials. The price of asphalt has doubled since 2020 as the main ingredient is oil. Construction prices have rose due material cost and fuel. I have to charge almost 40% more than i did 3 years ago just to cover fuel for my fleet of earth moving machines. Oil isn’t the only reason but it definitely is most of it. We are constantly getting molested by our friends in the middle east who can control our economy by randomly raising oil prices for fun. If domestic legislation allows us to drill and supply and refine our own US oil it would be reasonable to expect a lower oil cost and create more jobs for the middle class.
