New Piano Compositions – A Jaunty Strut Indeed

I’ve been busy practicing, playing, and writing piano music that past couple months. Since the completion of Bebop Isolation, I’ve been focusing on a similar project, but with original music. This includes writing piano music focused on two-part counterpoint.
A major component to this process will be learning how to play this music on the piano (If you’ve visited any of my streams the last couple months, you’ll probably hear some of this new music). Eventually, I’d like to produce audio recordings of these tunes, but first I need to learn them. Over the next few months, I’ll be sharing some of these piano performances with Patrons.

A Jaunty Strut Indeed – When I first starting writing this and looking for a theme to develop, I remember wanting to try something extra silly :)
It was originally written in MilkyTracker, ported to Pico-8, and now it’s on the piano! Left-hand patterns take a lot of influence from Egberto Gismonti and Brazillian rhythms. For the most part though, this is traditional counterpoint and includes some sections of invertible counterpoint, when the left-hand plays the melody.
