So the beast had no name nor level? The system did nothing? They got no exp for fighting it? I was expected the beast to be from another planet and killing it would benefit the planet. Even going as far as assuming that the best to save the planet was to destroy the other planet

2024-02-11 20:16:25 +0000 UTCThe image of Lavarro smiling sweetly must be weird as hell to Jamus, since her previous emotional range went from 'frown' to 'frown harder'. Thankfully, Anya is much nicer. It appears that Vannon didn't brainwash her, but rather just put her in charge of controlling the monster fallout from the maelstrom. Telling her about Mahria might win them some points here, though I still believe they are going to meet Potentate Vannon. Telling him about Val might be enough to see them treated as a diplomatic envoy from Ascension rather than the foreign spies (and one renegade soldier) they are. I really hope that at least Jamus knows about Val's parentage.

2024-02-11 08:38:51 +0000 UTCThink all that is to slow. Rain has no way of communicate or get information, and there is no way for him to get information before they set out to try and rescue them. There likely will be a confrontation, one between Halgrave, Rain, Ameliah and Tallheart.

2024-02-11 06:53:18 +0000 UTCGood news is they aren’t in immediate danger of death (except maybe Shu/Fechton Stone if they find out his desertion). Bad news is that they may become brainwashed or tortured before Rain can pull diplomatic skills. Best case scenario is that Val’s dad (potentate Vannon) is open to return Ascension’s members due to the threat of the Maelstrom and demons being a world ending issue. Vannon has taken Fecht’s “stagnant order and control” policy as his own (whether it be due to some mental/soul manipulation Fecht did or actual conversation is unknown) and that requires the world to not end. So best bet is to be diplomatic assuming Lavarro’s mind cannot be jogged which would come with own issues of a Dominus going missing.

2024-02-11 06:43:29 +0000 UTCCalling Lavaro by name might buy them some time. Bringing up her daughter could cause the subject to shift if she is curious about her past.

2024-02-11 06:38:51 +0000 UTCGet an alliance with Val's dad on account that he is, well, Val's dad? Or they can trigger Lavaro's memories and maybe she chooses to escape? But that seems highly unlikely.
