2021-11-08 09:39:21 +0000 UTCThe Badlands being a dried-up lakebed was kinda interesting. Maybe could ask the geomancers to dig in the ground a bit to see if the transition was slow/natural, or the result of some terrifying calamity that happened. The latter of those two would indicate there might be some ancient ruins to have a scouting team look for. Just gotta keep in mind Rain is the only one able to see through the Straal's defensive illusions, so maybe invest some science points into making a spyglass.

2021-11-08 00:38:04 +0000 UTCTrue, the only others that come to mind are blood mages, healers/supports using contact spells and maybe self-enhancers and shifters - although I'm not sure about Elemental Transformation.

2021-11-07 21:57:40 +0000 UTCHe'll also get to play around with how the concept of infinity applies to skills once he can get the minimum tick rate down to zero. For example Instead of using one second Velocity novas, Rain could instead make the tick rate defined by a limit function that toggles it on and off in random intervals within each second, as f(x) approaches one second. That way, there's no way monsters can possibly adapt to it. Just don't leave any export values at infinity, since then the power would either be infinitely small, or the mana cost would be infinitely high. There's also the possibility of getting the 'Let's watch Rain n' the gang play around with velocity, Silverplate edition!' scene. He could even turn it into a Squid Game kinda thing by offering a prize to whoever can reach him first.

2021-11-07 20:42:15 +0000 UTCWith that tick speed change, I bet he could use macros to turn on Aura Focus just for a moment when an aura ticks, and then turn it off again to avoid blinding himself.

2021-11-07 14:42:34 +0000 UTCA couple of thoughts on the tick rate: 1. It is nice to see it show up now, meaning there is probably not a whole skill dedicated to tick rate. 2. More control=better, who knows when that fidelity will be useful in a combat situation. It could be a fantastic training tool. There is a world where people need a constant low damage attack to effectively train certain skills. Testing will go a lot smoother as well.

2021-11-07 08:11:26 +0000 UTCYeah this seems like a way to keep the DPS even when in a low/no rank zone, which will make him extremely dangerous in safe areas, and it will allow him to deal with the "too fast melee dude" problem. That said, it looks like this will only really affect auras based on ticks, which means his defensive and most of his utility auras will not get any benefit (unless they do somehow scale with this), and considering that those are his best active skills, it is about of a need in that department.

2021-11-07 05:43:08 +0000 UTCGreat chapter SS! This one has something for everyone. So CM doesn't go over 200%, that's gonna screw with people's calculations. The tick rate effect seems really good - at 15 Rain can halve the attack speed on an aura to double to damage (on top of all other modifiers) per single hit. I wonder if the extra delay only comes into effect after the first hit - that would allow for some bonkers macros.

2021-11-07 05:16:30 +0000 UTCHow does the damage cap interact with his spell ticks? Because if he can get them near continuous, he could do damage right at the cap per tick with the smallest applicable tick and deal stupid damage.
