I have tried. For weeks, I have tried to go through this chapter. I just can’t do it. When mindscapes change from being a means to an end, to being the story, it becomes cultivation. Apart from Mary Sues, cultivation is the trope I hate the most in fiction. So, I’m sorry to say this, but I’m dropping this story. Good luck for the rest of it, and whatever comes next.

Ok ok this might be a hot take but here me out on this one. What if...instead of Snow Lily...the empire thinks it's Tallheart's daughter. The timeline would add up, and the fact that TH's lovingly crafted runes are on significantly weaker Stacked Shots, and also on the Fire Arrows that Lily has never used.

Yeah, the Snow Lily thing is pretty easy to explain. Tallheart and Lily were the cause of many imperial deaths throughout the years, and even now Ameliah isn't nearly as powerful as Snow Lily was. Even beyond the whole 'Cervidian' thing, the Empire would have had people, actual Diviners, dedicated to figuring out this threat, and piecing together her skills. They would have had hunters on them. They also would have noticed that both of them would occasionally disappear for months or years at a time as they delved to raise their caps, only to reappear and resume havoc. This is, perhaps, an unusually long disappearance, but a super-powerful heavy-armor-wearing archer with runic arrows suddenly appearing again? They can't be common. The empire would obviously assume it's her. The only coincidence is that someone in that army was personally involved in the hunt once upon a time.

Just a random thought: if the settings for what a Crystal Slime cleans up are determined by the settings on the Purify effect that created them, Rain could create a Sober Slime that cleans up alcohol in people's systems (along with their mugs, etc). It would be a mean prank to set one of those loose in a bar...

Does he have a level cap above Level 1? Where did Dozer’s mass come from? Why Rain’s nose? Is thematic appropriateness a thing? What does this mean for the Lair-as-Soul theory? Hmm... why are they not at least considering that Fecht himself might come kill them, if Tallheart were to show himself? Or didn't Ameliah convey that Fecht destroyed Fel Sadanis personally in her estimate? That should be an obvious consideration, given that he might still be in the area and the Empire knows that sending the usual response to the Dynamic Deer Duo does not work.

Wards are easy. Ameliah just has to switch to the appropriate elemental arrow and they automatically have a high level damage source for each element.

Rain doesn’t know WHY it worked but he knows how it happened, Dozer went inside the jet engine inside Rain’s soul and was launched and propelled fast enough so he was ‘absorbed’ in his soul bastion, if Rain takes essence and makes mana inside the soul than having dozer soul or essence and producing a body from essence or mana for dozer isn’t so far fetched, BUT could he do it reverse? Can he absorb all the pure slimes? Could he use them to filter his soul? Come on! Its time to inhale some slimes!

I was not expecting Rain to sneeze Dozer out at all. This is good news as he can give Ameliah-Queen a fist bump, say hey to picky-picky (Meloni) and Floofy-Cloud. And of course Tall-brother and the other bonesack slimes. Now all he has to do is fix his soul (good news that the conversion is faster as the core grows since that means that it won’t take as long as his initial calculation, which was centuries) and he can stop worrying about his internal personal problem. They do need to get a move on and I wonder if Rain is able to class advance (all skills at 10 and I think the shield skills will be most difficult as they need a specific type of damage and they may not have any awakened who can dish it out, although Tallheart could probably make enchanted weapons if he had the crysts to do damage) right now if he wasn’t worried for his soul? Well they should get moving in 24 hours at latest (even earlier would be ideal). I wonder how the Watch will respond? Well even if they do, it won’t be in a way that impacts Ascension.

Dozer chapter is best chapter. He even comes in an easily portable, smaller size! How handy. I liked the interaction with Rain and the nobles. It came off as a natural reaction to their bullshit when he was already dealing with too much. And they're bags of dicks so it's always satisfying when characters like that get put in their place. Damn, uppity, low level bitches.
