Among the Stars. Finale.
Added 2024-11-05 00:45:36 +0000 UTCThis is the final chapter. With that said, it is almost 20k words long! Longest single chapter I've done in a very, very long time.
There is a LOT to unpack here. There will be no more within this series (maybe this universe eventually) and no epilogue chapter. I think everything that needed to be said and done has been now.
This series was NOT supposed to be this long, lol. However, I wanted to make sure to wrap up everything. With that said, I know there will be a lot of questions and don't mind answering to the best of my abilities.
To give some more context, the idea behind this story started when I was sitting by my husbands bedside while he was out of it at the hospital. Holding his hand, while thinking so many things. So many, many things. A lot of people asked me "would you do it all over again" even knowing the ending. That he'll die years before I do (Even the doctors said so). I chose to remain by his side, I said to them "I'd do it over again without a second thought." The good times, even the bad. Because a day with him, is better than a thousand without. Even knowing how our story ends.
With that said, I plan to work on some smaller things. I want to finish up Snow Dawgs on SF by end of this year, maybe some more Big Things, and then work on and plan for the next big story then (next year after holidays). Not sci-fi please! Hah, I need a break from that. I watched SO many documentaries and shows about space trying to figure out how to do this story! I plan, for the next scifi, to be far more "grounded" and a lot less cosmic. Like a war between two nations or invaders or possibly like an alien planet being explored could be fun.
I have a LOT of ideas for future stories and I desperately wanted to get started on THOSE as this story took so long to finish up.
Thank you for reading and hope you enjoyed,

This is your best work. I really enjoyed most of your stuff, I have your paperback lol, but the execution of such a high concept being done flawlessly was amazing to read

2025-03-05 00:30:20 +0000 UTCWas time travel always a planned part? It's been a while since I read Into The Stars but I don't recall any specific hints about what was really going on until Among The Stars
