i am alive and i made a cover! this is "elliot's song" by dominic fike and zendaya from euphoria. confession: i didn't watch euphoria! i want to so badly but i have this creeping feeling that i will 1. really love and and not be able to stop watching it, and 2. become dark and depressed and scared about what happens to kids in their teenage years if i do. so for now, i'm avoiding it. i'm trying to keep my headspace as sunny and love-filled as possible for the time being. all that said--jesse watched it, and after he heard this song he was like YOU NEED TO LISTEN TO THIS SONG and then he played it for me and about two seconds in i was like I LOVE THIS I NEED TO SING THIS and he was like I KNOW!! and so i did :)
on the music front--i've got a couple more covers in the works for you all that i am so excited about and had so much fun making. the next one is re: stacks by bon iver, one of my all time favorites. the one after that is with one of my most favorite humans, miss kate mcgill! and in just a few days, jesse, aya and i head out for our first airplane adventure to meet up with two of our other most favorite humans, marie (mree) and henri, to record a few songs together! lots and lots of music on the horizon and it feels so good to be getting back in touch with that side of myself.
in other news, motherhood has been just magical and aya is so freaking sweet and wonderful. just so incredibly grateful.

I can’t even explain how much I needed this today. On day 6 of fighting Covid. Really struggling with symptoms and mental health bc of underlying conditions. Been feeling really hopeless and your voice and this cover is bringing me something of a glimpse of something joyful to snuggle into for now. Thank you Kina. I’m sad I missed out on coffee date this week.
