29 Bonus - December 2022
Added 2022-12-28 19:02:25 +0000 UTCHere is a miniature but demanding exercise which consists of two arpeggios (A minor and E7).
This little sequence consists of consecutive hammer-ons and pull-offs which are strummed once with the index finger of the right hand followed by a single note on the second string plucked with the thumb. The only exception is at the very beginning when we play only one pull-off.
The trickiest part is at the transition from A minor arpeggio to E7. At the moment of performing the first string hammer-on from open string to the fourth fret, we should also move the first finger on the second string from the second to the third fret. The same thing happens when we make the transition from E7 to A (third to fourth bar). At that point, during the hammer-on from the open string to the fifth fret, we should simultaneously move the first finger on the second string back from the third fret to the second.
The example that follows (B) is much easier and it is the exact same exercise but it contains only pull-offs. The notes where hammer-ons used to be are now plucked with the right hand index finger and immediately followed by a pull-off which is plucked by the middle finger.
