Thursday update #1

Hi everyone,
The basic plan for the weeks ahead is simple: get the main story started.
I'll be going to redesign the main Island, it is currently in a pretty desolate condition which is mostly because I knew that I had to change it anyway. To do that I'm waiting until the terrain creation tool I'm using gets updated with support for lakes and rivers (supposed to happen in January). I've prepared a new landscape material that is going to provide better visuals and performance on the new island. With that I'll also be updating the Academy, it'll get a lot bigger and it's going to be turned into an actual usable state (like without holes for example).
The actual story part requires a beauty pass on the landscape where the story takes place and some animations but the dialogue and cut scene systems are pretty solid now. So, the main part is finalizing the script for the first chapter and creating specific cut scene animations, both of those can be done before I've updated the island.
Kind of unrelated to all that is that I'm going to update the small sex scene in the classroom with some foreplay, climax and post-climax animations, just so that I have a full sex scene in the game. The foreplay animations should be ready and uploaded tomorrow or the day after. With the climax and post-climax following sometime next week.
Also, I'm going to blow the dust off my twitter account with some development/progress images and animations. (If you can't tell by now I really don't like posting on social media but I realize that the game must gain some traction.)
Things I'm going to work on when I'm feeling stuck on the main story and the currently more important things:
- My homemade motion capturing solution.
- Update the skin and cloth materials, because Unreal finally added support for texture arrays which allow me to do some pretty neat things with textures (like cheap ways of blending different skin tones, nipple sizes, makeup, veins, tattoos and much more).
- The walking and running animations need to be improved. (The current version is looking awkward because I tried to make it usable with first-person, to which I'm going to take a different (better) approach from now on.)
- Effects for spells and other less important things like wet skin/cloth.
I'll try my best to get the development to pick up steam, but at least I've proven by now that I'm sticking with this project.
Cheers,
Witch-Dev
