{EARLY RELEASE} V 'Winter Ahead' REACTION

Comments

From what I understand from the lyrics and the MV is that he lost the love of his life and loneliness made him create a sculpture of her. As he was reminiscing the beautiful time with her( the birthday party) then the dark him (broken) came to remind him that it's not real she gone, this the lyrics... He will be with her wherever and in their memories he'll fine paradise 💕 That's just me fam..Borahea 💜

I love this song. Then again, I love Jazz, so I’m not surprised that I love V’s voice, Park Hyo Shin’s voice, the instrumentation, and the overall sentiment and vibe. While the video feels sad to me, creative, deep, and beautifully done, it’s the song itself that speaks to me most. Art can always take on meaning for the observers and listeners that may not have been intended by the artist. That may be what’s happening here for me. Lyrics that stand out for me, include: 1) “We can be/Safe from the storms up high/There’s a winter ahead,” 2) “I’ll be with you/Until the Spring runs by/And the Summer starts to burn/I’ll be with you/When the Autumn wind returns.” Many of us are in seasons of life, political seasons, or even professional seasons that are particularly challenging (there’s a winter ahead). However, in this song there is an offer of love, companionship, comfort, and commitment through all of the seasons. I think the offer can come from and/or be extended to self, family, friend, or community. I find these lyrics so meaningful and timely. They are a wonderful reminder to all of us of how we can show up. This sistah is grateful. Yay, V!!!

I loved your interpretations of this MV. What I got from it is: V rubbing under his eye and the sculptor rubbing under the eye of the sculpture was an early indication that the V that we are watching is a duplicate. If you notice, there were other sculptures in the room as well, which were the people partying with him in the room. It was not until he saw the original V(the sculptor) when he realized he is only a duplicate. I believe that the original V wanted to create his ideal self. In the end the sculpture embraced who he was. V probably sees himself as being dark. The sculpture was more bubbly. In the end they both smiled because they've accepted who they are, which is why the sculpture tried to smile through his tears. I think that paradise is a place where you accept yourself for who you are. V is amazing because he was able to say all of this with his body language and expressions. The bottom line is, he needs an Oscar Award. We need more k-dramas and movies from this man. I believe that paradise happens when we accept who we are. I love your reference to RM's album as well. This is why I love art. It's always open to interpretation. Awesome video guys!!!💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

What i got from this music video is Tae (dark verison) made V bacause he was alone and he was able to bring him to life and then Tae( dark version) also made the girl they both fell in love but I think that they left ( Dark Version Tae ) alone and something happen to him like maybe he hurt himself in some way or got hurt in someway maybe when she disappeared.. but then when the clay version of V realized that he was made that's when he was able to put it together and also I think this music video and the other one he did goes together somehow in away because of the girl in the last one and then this one also just my thought though

I've been waiting for this!!!

V's storytelling hurts my brain and I'm here for it.💜💜💜 And, Nico, when you mentioned the eye rubbing as though he's remembering his creator, it instantly reminded me of Inception. Just like Leo DiCaprio had the top to spin to be sure he was in his reality. Then, AJJ mentioning him in a dream. If you haven't seen it, you should check it out.

Loved watching you two trying to decipher the video! I wish V would see your reactions . L💜

Ok, first I must say that I love how Tae looks dressed all in black. He looks like a menacing big boss. I hope that Tae considers acting in the near future. I'd love to see him play a villain. AJJ! You are hilarious 😂 Namjoon playing the saxophone 🎷 😆

🙂👋 Hey Nico & AJJ! 😅 Yeah... ARMY lyfe be OVERWHELMING in Chapter 2. OT7 is on a "break" and ARMY be drowning in content and broque. 🤣 RM is on the 🎷 saxophone?! 🤭 ARMY has SO MANY interesting theories about the MV. 🤣 Jacob is on the 🎷 saxophone? 🤷‍♀️ If you say so AJJ. 😯 Nico, how could you forget about Sophia? ✌️ See y'all on the 🫰 next one Fam.

My humble interpretation. Tae is the artist. The center of the story is the theatre where Tae observes what happens on the stage. He sees himself as a sculptor who creates many statues. The statues (the girl, the V in red, the group of people dancing, the creepy bleeding V) come to life and they think to be alive. Red V, the joyful one, understands that he’s only a figment of the creativity of the sculptor when he sees his double, the one who’s bleeding. It may refer to the awareness of Tae about his stage persona (he has used many times the metaphor of masks). They are all part of him but he’s someone different, more complex, who can’t be trapped in his public persona. It’s important to stress the contrast between the lyrics and the video. The song says that daily and simple things, shared with your loved one, allow you to overcome everything. Art is a part of Tae, a very significant part of him, he’s almost obsessed with the research of perfection, but art itself isn’t enough. If you’re alone, art and success can’t fulfill your emptiness. In the last scene Tae is leaving, he walks towards the forest, which is the symbol of the unknown future, but leaves what isn’t enough for him anymore.

First of all, Nico, that bear joke was unbearable. 😎 Second, that MV was a whole-ass episode of Black Mirror. (I agree with The Shining creepiness too) Last, Bookish Theories has a great explanation video.

It's definitely deep. I have a few ideas of the meaning. I wish V would tell us the meaning. But, we know he won't do that.

DawnMarie McCluskey

Hey, my interpretation is that the bleeding one is Kim Taehyung and he created the character of V that we see on stage during concerts and performances. And he bleeds because V wanted to kill the real Tae.

Marzena Kot

I believe he said some of it is based off the Greek myth of Pygmalion but the difference is in V’s telling nothing is real not even him (or the version of him that he thought was alive but he too was just sculpted).
