Our Beloved Summer Ep. 10 | REACTION

Everything is a mess right now! We got people denying crushes (cough cough Yeon-su), people crushing on someone that they can't have and it's sad (cough cough NJ) and poor Ji-Ung struggles with his relationship with his mom in the face of the continued emergence of feelings for Yeon-su. And bruh can we talk about how Ung almost got beat up by Grandma 😂

Let us know whatchagot2say about this one in the comments FAM 🤓

Our Beloved Summer Ep. 10 | REACTION

I connect with Ji-Ung with my father and then seeing my ex with our girls. In my opinion the parent has to create the bond and as the children get older, both sides work on nurturing the relationship. I'm definitely not saying you can't create something out of something that was never there, it just gets harder as we get older to purposely choose to do so. Also, shout out to Nico's chicken noodles soup with the soda on the side shirt....just a few more days until Hobi is back 💜

I've never felt sorry for Ji-Ung's mom. Just because you really truly want to reconcile with someone, that doesn't mean that the person you hurt owes you a damn thing. You CAN heal from being abandoned by a parent without ever reconciling, ask me how I know. Sorry to be dark, but all I felt when my dad died was relief. Now people would stop pressuring me to go visit him. Well-meaning people, but people who didn't grow up with toxicity. Some things you just have to believe people, about their own lived experiences. I have been to therapy, "contact your dad" was never a suggestion from them. Thank God.

For me i tend to be more on Ji-Ung's side more than his mom. Mainly because my ex-husband is like that with our kids. I have an 18 yr old and a 16 yr old. Their dad has been in and out of their lives since my oldest was 3. He would come see them make all these promises to them and in a few weeks he was gone again, nowhere to be found. But when he would come back he would act as if nothing happened and that the girls should be happy to see them and as they got older the less they wanted anything to do with him. Now he blames me a lot saying i had something to do with the fact that they don't see him as their dad. I never kept him away, but he's choices are his and i feel the same about Ji-Ung's mom. Forgiveness is not going to happen overnight, it is a process and it could take awhile for Ji-Ung to forgive his mom but she has to put in the work too. she can't just show up and expect things to change. Ji-Ung has been consistently hurt by her since he was a child and it is not an overnight fix. (wow, long rant) Anyway, as for the other 3 Yoen-Su, Ung, and NJ. I really like all 3 of these characters. IMO i think Yoen-Su and NJ are both good for Ung but in different ways. Yoen-Su really helps Ung find direction, but i don't like how much she holds back. But for NJ she is more direct with her feelings and just tells Ung. Ung can be clueless sometimes..haha so i think he needs that directness. If Yoen-Su would have already told Ung what she is feeling i think they would have already gotten back together. Sorry, this was way too long..haha

I like NJ but I have to agree with what Yeon-su said at the end, she doesn't seem like Choi Ung's type! However, the fact that we got to see their relationship progress and see more of her personality throughout the show really warmed me up to NJ's character, and I wouldn't be against it if they actually end up together. I just feel like their lifestyles are too different for things to actually work out at this point in the show. Or maybe Choi Ung has to warm up to her a bit more so we can see the true potential of their chemistry. I'm proud of Yeon-su for realizing and admitting her feelings! It takes a lot of growth to be able to process those feelings, let alone owning up to her past mistakes. I am SO here for the "rivalry" to come between NJ and Yeon-su... oooh its gonna be spicy!! Despite all this, I too, have a strong hunch that it will be Yeon-su and Choi Ung that ultimately have their happy ending together 😆 This kdrama is such a feel good show and I'm happy to watch it with you and sweet Mika. Ya'll make my Mondays so much better! 💜
