Romance in More Detail

Like everything I aim to do, the Romance In Drone Commander will be extremely original, and full of stuff other (even solely dedicated romance VNs lack).

MAKE UP AND BREAK UP

Such an important thing in real life, how many people do you know or have heard 'oh yeah, they are back together...they're always fighting'... yet they eventually get married, super happy and have kids.
Love is a journey, it has struggles but once you come out of hardships you are rock solid.

It shows how lacking in actual care developers are when they don't consider this mechanic (or most likely they are too young).

So in some cases you can break up with a character, or maybe they dump you - but later you'll be able to win them back or simply resume where you left off.
In some cases a Sekarri women will seduce you, but you'll let her down (softly) leaving the door open for you to change your mind (as long as the conditions are right).

TURNAROUND

This used to be foresight, and I decided to split it off - foresight may still happen but for now, if you reject someone or hurt their feelings you'll get a chance to turn it around and recover.

Sometimes your turnaround can fail, but you don't completely blow it. It at least gives you that chance to prevent save scumming.

Also for people who aren't English first speakers this will be super important, you might say something you think is nice but they take badly i.e. 'you are trying very hard'.

🎵🎵 I DIDN'T PROMISE YOU A ROSE GARDEN🎵🎵

Actually I did, but Fel, Zera and Kira didn't. Guess what, sometimes you are going to have bust ups with them - if I made your romance all easy flowing, you might get the dopamine, but you'd lack the real experience that Drone Commander is aiming for.

I don't want to be a 'mid-tier', this has to be memorable - so fighting for your loved ones will make it all the more satisfying when it pays off.

That said, sometimes you'll mess up, but sometimes they will mess up... you might think you are a forgiving guy - but I promise, i'll be testing that.

Don't worry, none of the core girls are going to turn out to be Neph, but...yeah they might end up doing stuff that makes you feel betrayed (not cheating...unless its like Tiff.. but are you surprised with her?).

Still, the level of betrayal REALLY DEPENDS on what type of person YOU are. This is where the game will become more personal to you. Maybe Erika comes out, and confesses she never actually believed you could fight, and was just stringing you along for sex (just as a made up example here), me personally i might be 'meh, at least she see's it now'. But others might be p1ssed off.

OVERALL PLAN

This is my current strategy.

ALL THE WAY CHARACTERS - ABOUT 20 OR SO

This includes Fel, Kira, Tabby, Yeverii, Zera, Liora, Morrigan....

They wil have at least 8 STAGES OF LOVE

  1. Intro

  2. Flirt

  3. Intimate encounter (face hold pov)

  4. Date

  5. Intimate encounter 2 (can include sleeping together, night after etc)

  6. Relationship chalenge

  7. Coasting/recovering

  8. Enjoying being together

Of course this can include more, but each stage will take you time to get through.

MID WAY CHARACTERS ABOUT 50 or so

These are characters that have about 3 to 5 stages, less depth but still meaningful and not carbon copy paste characters. They all have hopes desires, but less impactful to the game.

FLING CHARACTERS

These are characters you may get 1 or 2 scenes with, it can be fun dating and even all the way balls to the wall. But they wont be in your life much.

Axel Brant

Same here buddy, normally i play the game and feel content - in this case because i'm building it, I want to make sure there are lots of paths and options so it doesn't feel linear. But yeah, i'll also make sure to pass it by you guys first before releasing.

Mr Adam McMurchie

It seems that I will spend even more time in this game than I imagined... Usually I'm not a perfectionist... But I am in some games. And Drone Commander stays out of that category if I want to ever finish it... XD About Forgiving and making up. Some games urge players to be forgiving, leading to players forgiving stuff they'd hardly forgive in real life, just because "that seems right, that's the message, that's what the game wants" or something along those lines. Of course, people have standards, which the game might fail to soften, but usually we can be surprisingly forgiving in the games. I wonder how much this will be tested...
