We learned a lot about how BTS handles conflict in this episode. Some of it was hard to watch but all of it was good to see.
We hope you enjoy watching this with us FAM. Please let us know whatchagot2say about this one...like let's talk about it. See ya soon 😁💜
I've seen the Taejin disagreement before on YouTube (though not within the full Burn the Stage episode). I remember when I first watched it maybe a year or so ago, I was honestly blown away by how these young men in their twenties were speaking to each other with so much maturity and respect, not to mention a very high level of emotional intelligence. At no point did anyone speak over the other or make belittling comments or cheapen someone's feelings. They all spoke in such a healthy and positive manner, validating each other and giving unbiased perspectives on the situations while also feeling free to share their own thoughts on the issue. This definitely isn't a communication style I saw growing up, unfortunately, so when I watched this interaction, I was amazed that people could actually work through a disagreement in such a healthy manner. It's really inspired me to pursue this kind of loving communication style in my own life and believe that it IS possible to have. Sometimes, you'll have people who want to just sweep it under the rug or have you get over it already without working through why the words hurt, which is why I love how Jin and Tae each took their turns explaining how they had perceived the other's actions/words and how it had impacted them, and on top of that, they committed to respecting that moving forward and knowing what buttons to avoid pushing. I just love how open they are with each other. It's absolutely amazing and I believe we can all learn amazing lessons from the way they communicate. <3

This episode highlights everything amazing about BTS. Brothers fight - its inevitable when you have people who live and work together and are so passionate about what they do. The emotional maturity they showed in resolving the incident is astonishing! I love when 'Dad' RM steps in, the hug he gave Tae before they went on stage was so sweet.
I have to say I love your reactions!! The fact that you love all of the guys is so refreshing. They are all amazing in their own unique way (although my bias is JK) and unfortunately not all ARMY seem to feel that way. I love watching your videos because it is like hanging out with friends discussing our favorite band.

A quick note about the hierarchy, it wasn’t just because Jin is the eldest and deserves respect, that Jimin brought that up. The manner in which Tae was speaking to him and words he used in the short bits we saw, were inappropriate to use with an elder or anyone if you aren’t looking for a fight fight. Which is why later on Jimin addresses it and even includes Jungkook into it because Jin lets them speak however they want to him and sometimes both Tae & Kook go overboard with his generosity. Also we can see from the editing, they’ve cut a lot out, so we don’t get the full impact of everything Tae said and the joke Jin would have made to try and diffuse the situation.
Jin apologising was one of the many things that really made me respect him. He’s not at fault, tbh both of them weren’t, things just got heated, but when he sees Namjoon having to step in, he supports Namjoon and his authority by stepping up and apologising first. People also don’t seem to realise Tae was tearing up because of Namjoon’s words, as he felt in the moment he was being labelled as wrong.
Tbh this episode was controversial and has had unfortunate lasting repercussions. Tae solo stans have had a sustained hate campaign against Jin since this came out, many “fans” didn’t like how Namjoon handled it and felt he was biased towards Tae and ignored Jin, Jin solo stans are forever bitter over only seeing Jimin comfort him and both solo stans are angry at BigHit showing a “biased” cut and actually demanded a full account of their disagreement to be shown. Honestly it’s all nonsense but everyone had a bone to pick, it’s just thankful that the majority of fans took this like mature beings understood how a situation like this is no one’s fault and how to handle it.

I think the thing I like the most about how they resolve the argument is that everyone gets their say, no one talks over each other. They're all very respectful of each other. It's a very healthy way to resolve things.

If you can talk, you can sing. To get to the level of, say, Jimin, MANY factors come into play. Some of those you can control, but you DO have to have a natural ability to a degree. He’s busted his ass, though, and he does have a unique voice that can’t sing some styles well. They’ve nurtured it and they use it in ways that make him sound his best. That, along with his never ending perseverance, has made him what he is today.

I know I'm so late...put off getting on patreon! Not sure if anyone mentioned it but at the end...when they were rehearsing...they were doing "Spring Day" and the part that they argued about before their show was the part of the choreography shown. I thought that was nicely edited to show that the topic they argued about was highlighted. That was the part that V was asking Jin to move a little quicker as he doesn't move until Jin does and then they need to get into their next positions. This episode made me a little emotional when it first came out. But they seriously show how professional they are but also that they are truly a family and also that they are human...they make mistakes, they have differences in views and sometimes they clash. I have so much respect for BTS and I found them at a time when I had no hope, no friends it turned out, and nothing that made me smile or touch my heart. [Except for my dog, at the time]. Now I have also found Whatchagot2say...so it just supplements my daily dose of BTS and BTS reactions! Yall are so fun to watch and the only reaction channel that I watch! Thanks for loving and respecting this group as much as I do, yall really are true ARMY. Also, most definitely the "Hobi" [sunshine] embodiment on the internet. Always a go-to when I need some positive vibes. Thank you!

With regards to the Jimin singing issue, the fact that this was 3 years ago should reassure you. But I think its hard for those who don't sing professionally or regularly to understand, plus you lose some things in translation. Most people can sing, they may not be stars, professional or anywhere near great but singing is a thing 99% of humans can do. What most peopel can't do is sing professionally. That takes technique and practice. And then its different depending on what type of singing and how often you need to do it. So Jimin came to bighit as a dancer with no background in singing. He has since said he has large tonsils, which often means you get sick more often than most. Jimin also had the shortest training period so he didn't have as much time to practice the skills he was taught. ITs kind of like he was thrown in the ring with only a few moves. Singing as often as he has been over the years means he went through a lot of trail and error. And being the perfectionist the errors weighed on him a lot in the past. You can hear the difference and improvement over time. Even back in 2017 he wasn't bad. But he has definitely gotten better as he learned more. I also think they got him more vocal coaching time when not on tour so he could learn his voice better. There's been a definite change in how his voice is used in BTS songs since then.

I really appreciate that they didn’t shy away from showing and talking about their fights, some people may forget that they are human too and are not perfect. We all have different opinions, feelings and ways of handing situations, so it’s refreshing to see a different side of them we’ve never seen before.

I love watching this episode. I love watching RM be the amazing leader that he is. I love how each member has his say. I love that they left the boys alone to talk it out and tried to lighten the mood reminiscing about other previous fights. How at least the point was valid, even if they approached it in the wrong way. I love Jimin coming in and sending them to bed knowing that they were probably emotional exhausted from all the talking. How the members didn't hid it from us too. Both Jin and Tae are sofies, maybe Tae a little more so it's hard to watch them feeling so hurt. But they are amazing in the way they deal with their problems. And you know that they will be together for a very long time because of the way they work. In the series In The Soop, Jimin jokes about how they don't fight hardly at all anymore. They grown so much and it's so good to see it! Borahae lil brothers!

This is a perfect example of how things can quickly escalate when you let them. As the wise young men JungKook said, you gotta take a step back (and see the bigger picture). Is it worth going down the rabbit hole? Are you willing to let your relationship deteriorate because of that point you want to make?
When you understand it's not and you do take that step back to reevaluate and leave your ego at the door for the greater good of keeping the harmony in your relationship (be it a work or a personal one), you can find other ways of communicating said point without going down that spiral of destructive, petty arguments.
You could see right away that Jin regretted not being the better half and letting it snowball but at the same time was unable to stop it. That was hard to watch because we've all been there and have found ourselves digging a deeper hole with each word we said.
At that stage you need somebody to take that shovel off of your hands and make you stop, that's why I think BTS is in for the long haul, as there's always someone -if not all of them- to do that for each other. The level of trust you have to have with the members to allow them to take control of your life/situation like that... wow. Admirable.
Good episode, guys, keep it up. Fairly new to your channel but already enjoying it immensely. 💜

Aaargh! I love this episode, but I hate seeing them in an interview with that gross, sorry excuse for a human that is Jeff Benjamin. He's such a haughty hypocrite. Anyway, it's inspiring to see our boys work so hard and to see them succeed all over the world!

Hey nico, just wanna give you a heads up if you do react to BTS’ MAMA performance, please be careful about putting it on YouTube. I’ve seen a lot of my other favorite reactors get copyrighted or a have a trike on their channel and I wouldn’t want that for your channel.

I can't recall where the story originated, but going back to JK reminiscing about his "yours was mine, mine was mine" attitude in the early years, apparently a fan had given a fruit basket to JK (perhaps after a concert) and Hobi wanted a banana. JK said no, it was "his". That's a no-no; you see how they share their food (I don't know if you saw Bon Voyage 1, where they waited until all members were together before they started eating). Hobi apparently threw the banana at JK and the members all saw this exchange go down. (I think they referenced this banana incident in this episode in an incidental way.) Anyway, I've noticed friendly tense exchanges between JK and Hobi when it comes to sharing food, and JK always gives in to Hobi (this is in not in this episode, just in viewing the vast BTS content - I can't pinpoint where, but if you see it, you can't unsee it). JK reminding us of his early character and how he's changed, and even now, how much he's grown from just 2017 to now! I'm in it for the long-haul with BTS!

This was great to watch again and I agree with what you both said, it's not good to go to bed angry if you have an argument with someone it would just sit there and eat at you. I've been friends with 3 girls for 15 years now and trust me the fights haven't been pretty but we talked about it for days, even months later and it definitely helped strengthen our friendship so seeing BTS also experience the same thing made me realize we are all the same. sorry for the long comment guys 😅

What they fought about was the part where they run right after the bridge in Spring Day, which was the exact scene they showed at the end. Jin goes to him, and when they turn around they have to run on beat to get to their spots for the rest of the choreo. It's one of my favourite parts of the choreo!!

Kudos all the way around to these guys - From RM's firm but compassionate leadership, Tae and Jin's willingness to get over themselves and solve their issue honestly, to the rest of the members thoughtfully commenting on the situation instead of taking sides, to Bang PD who helped foster this environment. (And kudos to the commenters, of course! I've seen this episode many times, but re-watching stuff with you guys always adds another valuable dimension to it. Thanks for what you do.)

it made their bond stronger and it's kind of their song in a way. After they fought they improvised on that part of the choreo in a fun way. When you watch spring day now they always have little moments together during that part and that makes me feel happy. Also this episode really showed why they are a team and a family because they worked it out together

I think Jin's pride was also hurt b/c he's not the strongest dancer and Tae (being younger and part of the dance line) call him out when he felt he was doing his best made him feel like 'wth I'm doing my best'.

9:19 actually that was Jin who had no singing experience. the raw talent is there for Jimin and Jin. IT's just like Hobi taught himself how to rap with the help of NamGi.
18:36 that's stage placements. when I was doing theatre before we divided the stage in numbers aside from the usual downstage/upstage division.
31:15 I remember being mad at Jin because of the hyung thing but realized it's ingrained in their society so I can't blame him plus he does try to avoid pulling the hyung card. I just empathize a lot with Tae because that's usually me, I call out people at work who need to be called out and yes I always get misunderstood like he did lol. I love how they get fights worked out, I think more people should do that especially in work situations. A fight between two people gets resolved by the whole team.
35:24 brings back to mind the Great Dumpling Incident
41:07 I loved how they ended the episode showing the choreo they fought over.

That is what I love about BTS. Suga said one time "we must not be transparent with our fans" and that is what they do. They show us "the bad, the good and the ugly". You may also come to the s series that shows the fight between V and Jimin over dumplings 🤣🤣 They really fell out with each other. I forgot which series it was but I am sure you will see it in time. Yes, I enjoyed this because it shows what all they go through as performers and above all they are HUMAN I am also glad you explained the Korean Culture; hierarchy status. Yes, Jin being the oldest there is a certain respect they understand is due to Jin (even RM who is younger than Jin although he is the leader of BTS must give that respect) Jin knows this yet he does not hold that over their heads so he feels hurt when he felt V had stepped out of his place. JK, being the youngest has to give a certain respect to each of the other members. That is the way it goes. Back in the day that is how we did; anyone older than you was respected. Not so today. 🤔 I💜YOU 🥰

I loooove this episode! Of course, I hate to see the boys fight, but I think it’s so important to see how they overcome their differences and become closer through it. BTS are such good role models in so many ways, but I really think their example of how to make their way through a disagreement is crazy important for fans who may not have ever had a good example of doing so in their day-to-day lives. Plus, it makes me happy to see how much the boys love each other, even during disagreements. ☺️💜 loved the reaction! Can’t wait for more!

So glad you got to see this episode and got to see them deal with conflict. You really do get to be a fly on the wall. Looking forward to your reactions to the remaining episodes. I've lost count how many times I've seen Burn the Stage. I love it each time I see it. And yes, the all-nighters are worth it. Lack of sleep is a fact of life if you're ARMY, especially if you live in California when the "Golden Hour" for them going LIVE is usually between 2-5am. If I wake up and see a LIVE alert, that's it for sleep. Well worth it.

This is one of my favourite episodes of all the docu-series they have. For me it just really shows why the boys are successful and stayed together for all those years. And just to add another point for me it really highlighted how good of an older brother Jin is. Even after his pride was hurt because of what Tae said (btw I also think it was because dancing was the topic and Jin was obviously not that secure in his dancing abilities and add that to the fact that he is older than Tae). Anyways even after that he swallowed his pride and apologized to Tae first before the concert started. Although they fight they know how to put the team first. Also I think it really showed why Namjoon is the leader and how he manages to communicate with the members. :) Thanks for the reaction it was great!! :)
