BTS - American Hustle Life EP. 7 REACTION

Comments

I was a hotel Housekeeper for a while... its freaking back breaking. Pretty sure thats the real reason for my spine deteriorating and I did it for about a total of maybe 3 years. Some people are lifers. The last place I was a housekeeper for, it was 1 person at least 16 rooms per person and it was only 22 minutes to clean top to bottom... I was alway at the 27-28 maybe 30-45 depending how long the guests stayed and how bad it was. I even had one where the entire bathroom was covered in poo... Yeah, I wanted to cry.

I love how humble the boys stay no matter what's thrown their way. I like what Blaze said about how SUGA and RM must have a deeper appreciation for keeping a hotel room clean when they're staying at hotels on tours now that they know all that goes into it. I thought it was really cool for them to see things from other perspectives and get a sense for the way other people live - especially the Skid Row segment. You can tell that really impacted them and encouraged them to keep working hard for their dreams. <3

Lily

Yeah it was definitely scripted that way. There were a lot of shows like this back then so it makes sense. Still don't like that style but they did it for ratings.

WhatchaGot2Say

The show def asked the bosses and people to be harder on them for the show. So maybe they would be tough in real life but they brought more of it for the show.

M bat78

I'm glad you guys noticed the "wax on wax off" comment the boss made. When he said that I was triggered lol. That dude so lame and mean from the start. As a boss and a full grown adult.. he acted more immature than the boys.

Ha Knuffke

i'm just relieved the episode ended in the wholesome way it did... the hotel job was fine bc the managers there were reasonable but the airport and cleaning some white guy's yacht? i found that way more cringe than the coolio episodes. at least those episodes actually involved looking into the history of hip hop.

jeanbee

I love the way that Tony and Nate framed the exchange. It was not simply charity, but an even exchange of wisdom for the food. I think this was a wonderful way to put it. I know that it really hit home for the members and we saw them do some similar things in Korea, like the episode with the grandmothers. I'm pretty sure all their charitable contribution stem from this lesson. On of the things I don't like about this series is how scripted it is. It does not feel authentic and that is something that really bothers me when every other series BTS has done feels very real. I think the hotel job was a good idea. I know that respect in those who work hard is already instilled in the memeber, but with that first hand experience it is definitely an eye opening experience lol!

Rae Avilez

I loved I-Land. You could really see the tenacity and the talent the trainees had to have to be successful as an idol. I would definitely add my rec to it too. Not to react but just to watch it on your own. I went to see BTS and fell in love with the show!

Rae Avilez

Jimin is my bias, but he was such a PIA while he was supposed to be working. I agree with the wax on wax off thing (uncalled for and rude as heck), but the 14 year old wondering if they were twins didn’t bother me cause he’s a kid. Hell, Jimin was acting like he was a petulant 10 year old most of the time they were there! 😋 I’m shocked they were given the reward they got. JK saved them both 😂 He was the one who should’ve been screwing around out of the two of them, but Jimin was a bad influence 😂

Katie B

Whoa that is a good point. That part touched me as well. Even more so when I watched it the second time. We have to do better for our people here in the States and that's a fact.

WhatchaGot2Say

Something that really struck me when they were on skid row was when the guy thanked them in Korean. He must have served in the Korean War. There are so many forgotten vets - most with PTSD, etc - screwed over by our health care system and indifference. Many Koreans think of American soldiers with respect and thankfulness - but we leave them to rot.

FlyUshkiFly

Yes I am. Thank you! Nyob Zoo.

MaiXao Vwj

Nyob zoo.

Travis Stoll

Blaze’s comments really hit home with me. I’m a Bachelor’s prepared RN with another Bachelor’s in Biology. My husband and I were trying to escape very toxic relationships with our families, so we moved from Dallas to Colorado. We found ourselves homeless last year until l was able to find an excellent job as a Neonatal ICU RN last year. This year, in March, I was struck by COVID-19, and have been on disability since March. When I’m able to return to work (and my employer has been sensational), I’ll go wearing oxygen. It’s not ideal, but I’ll go back to what I love. We’ve been lucky not to be homeless this time, but I hope nothing like this ever happens again. As the main wage in earner in our family, I’m determined to go back to the job I love. Not everyone knows what it’s like to live out of a car. We know and it will never happen again because we know what we are made of. God granted us another chance. We don’t take that for granted.

khdavis

I can't wait as well!!! It was hard beginning to watch but the last episode made up for it...it is so worth it all!!! Borahae!!!

MaiXao Vwj

Yeah that’s right, it’s easy to say for someone who isn’t in that position that it was all done for the cameras but honestly it’s still discriminating and it’s not right. If you’ve ever been discriminated against you will understand it’s infuriating. I felt really bad about it, even more so because i love these guys a lot.

Sefora

ME TOOOO!!!

WhatchaGot2Say

i cant wait for the next episode!!!!!

Irene_ BTS

Not to mention racist/xenophobic. That’s my biggest pet peeve when I show new people BTS because half the time they say they all look the same

Lynk

I understand why they struggled to wake up in the morning. Poor little souls.

Cynthia Serra Neves

this episode is so triggering sometimes like- you didnt even need to take it that far. but overall, it was an important lesson and i appreciate the experience for them. this show has given them so many opportunities and has made them stronger within themselves and its just great to see them still applying these things even now.

Shayla-Trang NgoLe

Watching this series really makes you see how hard they work...they were shooting this while also recording Dark & Wild until all hours of the night...tired babies.

Regret Goat

Lol yeah we know about Suga. That's why we said it was a good pick.

WhatchaGot2Say

There is this show called iland that I think you guys would like even if it’s not something you record. It is a show to the new group to debut in the big hit company. Bts, seventeen, txt and other artist come on the show (not throughout the entire show). The show is already finish but you can find the show on the Rukaten Viki app if anyone is interested

Pride__j@ylin

This episode always gives me mixed feelings! I really liked that they went to the homeless and gave them food and I think it was a great lesson for them to really stay true to themselves and give back. On the other side I can't imagine how angry Jimin and JK must have felt when they got to work there. In Korea Age is an really important matter and you learn that you respect those who are older than you.. That Kid really just ordered them around and I think it hurt Jimins pride a lot.. Nevertheless he tried to do his work but I always feel sad when I see this scene. I mean would it have been too much to treat them a little nicer than that? But yeah I can't wait for the last episode guys! :)

Stefanie

Back when I first watched this episode I thought, "Teach them how to work hard?!? JK's been pretty much working 18 hour days since he was 12 years old!" They all have!! It was different work but not necessarily harder. For example, the reason it was so hard to wake them up was because they had been up most of the night working on their album. Ah well, I just always think of Iris in episode 6 and how kind she was to them, and how much she helped them and I feel better about this series.

Regina Marie E

I don't care if this is scripted or not, I don't like how BTS was treated, especially Jungkook and Jimin.. when that kid said "I thought you guys were twins", how rude..

Joanne C

Yea parts of this episode gave me vibes from episodes 1 and 2, but the end was so moving. Exactly what you said, they are where they are for a reason and learned some very valuable lessons along the way. The last episode is incredible, looking forward to it!!

D'Alice Craig

The 14 yr old now has a TikTok account and he posts his reaction to himself in those clips, it’s crazy how much he’s grown, and he respects the guys a lot now

Jessica

Nico.... AJJ & Blaze will muderlize ya if you don't show them this compilation of Jimin dancing. Just Warning you now. Lol. I hope y'all enjoy. I sure did (especially as a former dancer.) As always, be well and God bless you all. 🙏😷💜♾ https://youtu.be/22yi_bHfJ_Y

Michelle Tetzke

@m couldn’t find them 🥺

Arzuhii

they have reacted to Runs here

m

This was another episode I didn't like but the end was pretty good when they gave food at Skid Row. That kid made a vlog about how he was told to act like that and that Jimin and JK were in on it but welp.

Karla24.wintaebear

I never finished watching this episode because as an Asian, it really triggered me. Blaze, thank you for empathizing and pointing out the inappropriate treatment/ comments that happened in this episode, and thank you for being so upset. It doesn't change what happened, but I feel better knowing that others see it too.

Travis Stoll

Loved watching with you guys. I really felt for Jimin in this one. They were recording their Dark and Wild album during this time too so that's another reason they were probably so tired. Can't wait for you guys to watch the concert in episode 8. I think you'll really enjoy it🙂.

Terri Cooper

Yo.. even after all these years y’all should know this all happen because of the show.. the way they treated them was because they got told to act a certain way.. get some informations before ya jump on them.. and btw guys! I love your reactions and if you don’t mind I would love to see your reactions to their BTS RUN show/episodes as well- just saying! Just if you have time for that and actually want to do that^^

Arzuhii

Haha you guys should take solace in the fact that the Bosses were more than likely being extra hard on them bc they were told to Play it up a bit lol but it sucks that service workers have to deal with even worse ones in a daily. I love AHL it’s so obvious the lasting impact it made on them! Can’t wait for the next ep but I’m kinda sad it’s almost over :’)

jvhleesi

When I first saw this episode I lived in Cali. I was gonna go slap the snot out of that man for the way he treated our Jimin and Kookie.

Alien Cat Tweets

I love this episode so much, especially the end. It shows the values that BTS has really stuck to. They were involved in charities and youth charities even before this, like truly from the beginning. Goes to show their charitable works and donations aren’t just something they started doing when they got famous or waited until they had money to do. An example to everyone. Also you should know there’s sweet revenge during Bon Voyage a few years later. They go on a helicopter tour in Hawaii and even get to fly over volcanoes and with the doors open. Jimin mentions how he was in a helicopter before but how he finally got to ride in one. It’s also one of the most beautiful things they’ve ever done on a trip

Laura Moore

Finally! Something to watch after a whole day of stress at work. Thanks, Fam! 💜

Iris

I mean I guess you didn't know basketball is Sugas game, his name is literally named after his old position......

JAY

Yeah it had me very annoyed!

WhatchaGot2Say

Ahhhh the hard labor episode.... Poor Jimin... (O_O) Ooop #Quietontheset

Danny Jurado

I already know before watching what you weren’t happy with. The same thing we all were not happy about. Can’t wait to watch when I get off of work tonight.
