Just to add a few more things, -I think the video starts with Joonie coz he was the first to be recruited for the group. -And as some pointed out, their debut outfits have "for sale" written on the sleeve, since they didn't have branded clothed and were mocked so much for it. Many ARMYs used to gift them clothes and accessories and even things like bowls, bedding etc back then. The company was pretty much broke. It is also heartwarming that they still have many of this gifts even now, bowls, beddings, plushies from them are spotted still on their vlives and other clips. - their name, bulletproof, was mocked by the kmedia almost constantly. Calling it presumptous, mocking Bang PDnim, coz it resembles his name 'Bangtan Sonnyeondan"...it's really cringy to watch old variety shows. Joon pointing out that it is set in steel now is such a statement. The SK govt had honored them for everything they have done, they are UN ambassadors for violence against youth. They did own their name and held it high. - Whale - I have to repeat, please check out Whalien 52, maybe read up on the actual whale beforehand. It's sad. - many ARMYs noted that the boys have wings era costume up until the last scene. This could be because they thought wings era was their highest point. (Yeah, imagine that!!) - also, huge props to the animation team. There are so many subtle moments included in this. Like, - Tae's little specs flip in bulletproof:part 2 - Yoongi clutching his shoulder, due to his injury. - Their outfits - MAMA speech from Hobi, them crying, Jin passing a tissue to Yoon... I am sure there are more... Also, another thing is the colours. Many k-pop groups have official colours since debut, BTS didn't. They mostly used black and white. The purple started from a surprise event ARMYs did at a concert, where they covered the then white ARMY bomb with purple cloth bags abd made the first purple ocean. Tae then made up the meaning, saying it means to stay with one another till the end. Everyone knew he made it up, but it just stuck. That's how purple became our colour. This became another long postπ . But, really, thank you. And I am sure this song and MV will hit you harder down the line when you have travelled deeper into this purple rabbit hole. And yes, we are a family. We are bulletproof together. We love you. BTS loves you. Let's stay strong together and walk towards a better world. Happy Festa!! π

Didn't know what to expect... was it a performance, were they going to talk about it or was it an MV. Then I watched the MV and cried throughout. And now you guys. It's a direct reference to when he was still riding motor scooters as a delivery boy when they were trainees and he got hit by a car and ended up on the street against the tire. He injured his shoulder badly but was afraid to tell PD Bang because he might get kicked out of being a trainee. PD Bang ended up paying all his medical expenses. Every now and then in rehearsals and in stage performances you can see Suga favoring his shoulder, often rubbing it or not able to lift it as high as the others. I didn't start crying in the MV up to this point but then the waterworks gushed!!! I'm so happy for you three (and for all of us) that you have joined us on this magical BTS journey. We are all ALIGNED. Love you.

When I discovered bts in 2014 they slowly taught me to love myself and care for me. I feel like sometimes me and bts grew as people together. I couldn't get away from my mother because well she's still family, but I found another family in army to help support me, and it's like you guys said, when you're down there are people out there to help support you. For me it's army.

It's the story of a true life whale discovered in the '90s(?) whose cry is 52 hertz, while literally ALL other whales' songs are recorded at a completely different hertz. So it was called the loneliest creature on the planet, who sings out for companionship, and NO OTHER WHALE CAN RESPOND TO HIS CRIES. BTS made a song about the whale, and whales are a recurring theme with BTS. If you recall, Jin's drawing in the Idol music video was of Kore, the whale. During one of the RunBTS season finales, Jin gifted RM (his manito) a kore keychain as well. The whale has a special meaning for them - I'm not sure if ARMY has more than theories of why, but it is a theme that pops up every now and then. In Korean culture, the whale is a symbol for a huge conglomerate - perhaps, in a way, they feel ARMY is BTS' kore - the huge unstoppable force of a support system paving the way to allow them to achieve anything and everything they could ever wish for, which, in the context of the music video, is to literally carry them from where they are, up to the highest reaches, to the biggest stages, to the stars - straight to heaven.

Namjoon even said it during the Festa birthday party video released today, new fans help them grow. So keep saying βWEβ because we are alllll ARMY. There are SO many subtleties and references in this video, I myself lean on other ARMY for help. There were some amazing YouTube comments that identified all the referenced videos, and some excellent twitter posts that put side by side screen shots of this video and the ones referenced. For me, I believe that the Whale comes from the song Whalien 52 (which would be an amazing song for you to react to). While that is a story of a lonely whale that no one can hear, now in this video the whale and BTS are no longer alone. They hear each other. They ride together. Minorities -of any group-experience oppression in both subtle and grand ways. Being a minority myself Iβm honored to be able witness, and now join, a story such as BTS. I think of them as an example of a fantastic glow up. They experienced oppression and beat down in a different way than my black brothers and sisters, but oppression none the less, for just trying to be themselves and make it in the world. Just like Blaze eluded to, we ALL need to come together to overcome it. You fight for me, I fight for you, and together we are bullet proof. I think AJJ hit the nail on the head by saying we should lean on this song to get us through. I will for sure do that and yβall can lean on me, I know I can lean on you and we will make it through - because we are together. We are bulletproof.

This was because they were criticized for being sell outs. 3)The black wave symbolizes the black ocean, which happened during an award show when all of the other fans from other groups turned off their lightsticks during BTS's performance. 4)The whale has multiple meanings. I'm not sure if you know, but when you combine both symbols it forms a shield. 8)The ending scene is from Boy with Luv. There is speculation that ON is not represented because they have not been able to perform it for Army's at the concerts. I'm sorry for such a long response and tried to be as accurate as I could. I've been Army for almost 2 years now. Your sharing with us at the end was truly appreciated and I hope that with BTS, each other, and us....we can all weather what all is happening in the world. It's the one that most resonates most with me and makes me reflect most on my life and my story. Them referencing Whalien here gives a "conclusion" to the story they tell on that song. The presence of the whale in this video really ties into the reason why I love BTS and how them and ARMY comfort me when I feel lost. I'll elaborate later once you have reacted. The messages within this video is soo beautiful and yet leaves me in tears by the end. Also, as an explanation I got this from another comment in other reaction videos I have she describes this so well that I had to share! there's so many hidden things for veteran Army π - the intro with the blue bighit logo (their old one was orange with blue background) - it then turning into the wall of their old dance practice studio and Joon wearing his Boy With Luv outfit confronting his debut days self in a "Reflection" - Jungkook walking down the street of the No More Dream MV in their debut stage outfit - him turning into Tae walking into the We Are Bulletproof pt 2 MV and the glasses being sh0t or punched off is actually his part in the No More Dream choreo - it then turns into Hobi who walks into the N.O MV - it then turns into Jin walking down an empty hallway in the Boy In Luv MV - which then turns into the set of Danger with Jimin walking in his We Are Bulletproof pt 2 outfit - the thorny monster arms, shattering glass, everything falling to pieces and the "black ocean" (fandoms joined forces to not have their lightsticks on during an award show to show their disliking of BTS) are all the hate, antis, defamation and other things they have faced - Namjoon falling into a big dark ocean hit me especially hard, cuz he was a very (I don't wanna say depressed but he literally has a therapist and I think all the hate did cause him mental pain) sad person for a while. It shows a lot in his fashion back then (all black), his studio set up (all black), his earnest demeanor and his first mixtape (and also his 2nd where he finally let go) - the shattered shards chasing Yoongi in his I Need U outfit also hits hard, cuz around that era, when they first won on a music show the hate got really bad (when they were accused of copying other groups and bulk buying albums etc. cuz they won first place) - the small amount of purple lights who help Joon resurface of course being the veteran Army who stood by them when they had no one else (most peers/idols looked down on them, so did their fans and especially the industry and companies) - them standing up and the cherry blossoms signifying the Most Beautiful Moment era (that really meant a lot to us and them) really hit me, especially when it turned into Joon walking towards "us" in the Young Forever MV set with the other 6 π - they then all run through the I Need U, Run, Blood Sweat and Tears and Not Today MVs in their Run/Fire era hairstyles but debut outfits signifying that they stayed the same humble guys - they run towards the Spring Day MV tree and sit in a bonfire circle from the I Need U MV but they're wearing their Wings Tour Final concert outfits - and here is where it gets really painful βπ: - the whale is a reference to the song Whalien 52 which is a whale no one can hear in the ocean so he is alone, but he carries the boys into heaven aka the stage and Army (the purple glowy things) are their galaxy - the Army galaxy turns into the shape of a concert hall/stadium that resembles Wembley and the way they're standing away from each other on stage suggests it's the "Born Singer" performance - they then stand together on stage, Hobi holding a MAMA award and all of them crying: it's a combination of their ending speech from the Wings Final concert that was very very heartfelt (Joon's "lessen your pain from 99 to 98 etc." being quoted a lot from that day) AND the 2018 MAMA speech when Hobi cried and they confessed they almost disbanded - the stage extending to the Army logo which then turns into the Bangtan logo meaning we're one and they have us and we have them ("we are not 7 with you") - it ending with cherry blossom petals and Boy With Luv outfits meaning they're happy now and some people said it stopped there cuz they didn't have the chance to be with us during the Map of the Soul 7 era yet and cuz BWL was a very happy time for them (many awards won, lots of achievements, the guys being a lot more happy and content with themselves) Overall a very very heartfelt MV and it made me cry cuz I witnessed it all over the past 7 years and them dropping it on the day their first MV debuted and people ridiculed them for their style etc really hit different Something I read on twitter that rings very true - they take a rest in the Spring Day MV cuz they thought this era was their limit only to be picked up by the whale/us and brought to even higher highs and the biggest stage.
