I was always wondering: Is there a psychological explanation why people have this strong desire to share things that are meant to be a surprise? Here for example, Twilights Reaction probably wouldn't have been this intense, if Pinkie had just casually told "By the way, your brother is having a baby" Why do we having trouble keeping secrets?

When I was teenager level I had some issues framing things that were secret for one group but not another and was really bad about compartmentalizing things like that. I've gotten a lot better about it.

To continue the conversation started by Crusaders of the Lost Mark; That level of self reflection, and stuff, is really what MLP is all about. Sure, it's a show for kids that's basically one big toy commercial, but it brings up very real, and important topics, and gives people a common frame of reference to talk about these things. Like, it's hard to find common ground with someone who had a different past than you, and it's hard to empathize with them, because you can't see what they've gone through. But, we can all see Diamond Tiara's past firsthand, and empathize with her. And now that we've done that, we can empathize with real people who went through similar things, because we have a frame of reference now. For me, that's the real magic of MLP. Not the pastel ponies, the fandom, or even the literal friendship lessons the show tells. But the fact that it exposes people to things they haven't been before, provides new angles on things that we're so used to that we take them for granted, and is a neutral medium anyone who's watched the show can pull from to make points, talk about difficult things, and build understanding

I probably will keep it at the back of my mind.
