Big Mac's transformation is amazing! I love that clip!

Yup and those are public domain.

I LOVE THIS EPISODE!!!!!!!! Luna definitely needed to have closure to her Nightmare Moon past. However late it may be. For the record, I think it's not too late. It maybe could've happened sooner. But better a little late than never.

I like how this episode correlates with the previous one. There is time when you must feel guilt and there is time when you mustn't. It depends on how your guilt affects other ponies. Sometimes you have to feel bad for what you have done so you understand what was a mistake and what you have to fix... but sometimes there is no reason to feel bad especially when your miserableness makes other ponies suffer even more.

Oh man, I remember when this episode came out, and a lot of fans were mad that Luna was still blaming herself *this much* for Nightmare Moon so long after escaping it. The consensus seemed to be that this episode should have happened way earlier than it did. Whether or not that's true, I think it didn't help that Luna had barely shown up on screen before this, such that her perceived 'character' as a fan-favourite was more fandom invention than canon. Besides, Luna had good reason to be hiding her guilt.

Rarity sewing the dream shut was the best part of this episode, change my mind That aside, I refuse to believe that the Tantabus was angling to turn the world into a living nightmare when it escaped. She probably didn't want to actually escape, just scare the ever loving shit out of Luna, I mean, just look at how slow she moves to the exit, and goes back into Luna at the end of the episode, it could very easily have been its own force of forgiveness, telling Luna "You've had enough" in its own way With the other option, that being that it actually wanted to escape, I don't think nightmare was its goal. I'm like 90% sure it just wanted to escape the dream realm and forge its own destiny outside of Luna's self-torturing mind

The melody of Rainbow's nightmare and the Barney theme song is borrowed from the old nursery rhyme/song "This Old Man." The one that goes: This old man, he played one, He played knick-knack on my thumb; With a knick-knack paddywhack, Give the dog a bone, This old man came rolling home.
