As the day of the match draws closer, they have some verbal confrontations (trash talking and such), but there are subtle moments of respect and adoration between them because they each recognize the immense effort the other puts into their training. In these brief moments, they might pass along a tip to each other on ways to improve their training or form. Come the day of the exhibition match and one of them wins, but because of the respect they've developed over the days/weeks, none of them is upset. After the match, they find themselves alone, and are able to speak more candidly to each other, and help care for one another's bruises. Due to being vulnerable with one another, in the spur of the moment, one of them could build up the courage to ask the other out on a date.

I think it would be nice to have a meet cute audio where it's 2 bonnie lasses instead of lad and lass. With the end agreeing maybe just casual look is good enough and have a tender and loving moment in the end before heading off.
