❤️ 🍵 Tea’s Recommendations 🍵 ❤️ [May 2023] [Things I Like That You Might Like Too]

Hello :)

Sometimes I get caught in a cycle of the same movies, books, activities, and whatever else. If you also suffer from this, I hope this small collection of recommendations can be of some help.

P.S. These are obviously just things I like and if you don’t like them too, then that’s absolutely a-okay ❤️

Beef:

The trailer does this no justice. Absolutely none. I was expecting a decent premise, tit-for-tat episodic jabs, but this is just so much more. Cannot recommend it enough. Pain, pettiness and the inexplainable human urge to fuck shit up! Seriously, it’s not just enjoyable, it’s an emotional ride, a compelling look at people, and an excellent way to unplug from the world.

✨Activities:✨

Unplug from Counting:

In a world of counting steps, checking stats and begging for likes, please just come away, even if just for a little bit. I have renounced my Fitbit (because checking it was exhausting), I’ve stopped obsessing over exercise goals and I’ve been a lot calmer for it. I still move my body, but the constant checking of progress and stats needed to go. Unplug from weighing and measuring yourself constantly. Moderation is a hard bastard to obtain, but I’m doing my bit.

Speak Your Mind More:

If you’re a people-pleasing asshole like me, that can be hard. But just take it slow, say no occasionally, say when you don’t like something, risk that dumb joke. Life doesn’t always have to be so careful and cautious. Breathe a little.

Smile in the Face of Uncertainty:

There’s this guy who gives me the sourest look nearly every time I take my dogs for their morning walk. He looks at me like I offend him on sight. Now, on bad days, this makes me feel shitty. But on good days, I smile so wide at him. His face might just be like that, I don’t know. Maybe it’s all in my head. I don’t know him or what he’s going through, it’s not my business. But I’m not gonna internalise his stuff. So, I smile, a big, goofy toothy grin at him and keep on walking. He’s probably just jealous of my mad Adam Sandler style. My guy, just invest in the huge shorts and t-shirt. You’ll thank yourself :D

Remember that Life Doesn’t Have to be So Serious:

People and media outlets will try to convince you that everything is very stern and serious and it needs to be treated like a Bourne Identity film. But just to be clear, you’re just you. You’re not your job or how much money you make or your marital status or anybody else’s fucking business. We have limited, finite time to eat ice cream and not be assholes. Seize that time :)
