Never found it tedious myself, but on the flipside there's a limit. Also never really been dating, so it's been a rare subject for me.

I don't find it tedious since it's something that needs to be discussed (huge nerd and more data is almost always better)...but it has a time and place. I would much rather find out about the other person's interests and stuff since that is going to be the vast majority of the time you spend together. Quite honestly, it's a heck of a red flag to me if you start talking sexual preferences too early unless it ties into something else or was brought up by something outside the normal conversational flow.

I feel that's an usually tactic used, because the other party is incompetent on how to proceed in this whole dating process. They treat sex like a goalpost and the rest of the relationship happens from magic afterwards. Myself, it was long talks about mutual subjects of which sexual themed creativity (we both make NSFW stuff, she does audios n I do art), talked about mental health, a lot of talk about food and what kind of pillow was best for movie watching.

As a person whose never had close friendships let alone a relationship, I feel like I'd be too embarrassed to talk about anything sexual with anyone at any point in time tbh. Especially if I knew they liked me, I feel like if I revealed too much they might not like me anymore lol.

Depends on the context and how comfortable/deep the relationship is. Like if its someone I just met asking for sex then I'm gonna tell them to back off but if its someone who you have been in a relationship with for years and its sexy time then its ok
