Not too much to update you guys on this week! I've been working mainly on artwork for the maps promotion both on the workshop page and for the maps trailers! I'm not going to be showing that stuff off on here as I'd like it to be a surprise for you all when the marketing season for the map finally rolls around.
A few things I did work on this week however are the Ghost FX for when the player enters afterlife, as shown in the first screenshot. The player is now a whispy white ghost as you are in the original map as a pose to the BO4 ghost model I was using originally, after thinking on it for a little while I decided that I prefer this more nuanced take on the ghost as the BO4 model is a little over the top on detailing and look more like a zombie / ghoul than a soul. I'm really quite proud of how this ghost FX turned out! The player is now a ball of white smoke, with a trail that both follows your player model around and also helps guide you back to where you downed. I also added a waypoint above downed players heads making it easier to navigate back to where you went down, as shown in the second screenshot!
I added a few cool details I enjoy from the original this week too such as afterlife mode having different round change music! Now if you're in afterlife when the round flips it will play an alternative round change jingle, and this is client side too meaning only players in afterlife will be able to hear it! (this took me way longer to figure out how to do than I'm willing to admit on here haha)
