This week on Vegas I've been working on revising the layout of the map to try make sure it flows properly before I start working on any crazy details! Specifically this section at the far end of the map has been giving me a bit of trouble, I've decided to open it up and create a new pathway going around and behind the hotel, I'm hoping it'll give players more options on where to go when playing the map as before the area was very linear, only allowing players to go towards the hotel entrance. The last image in this post shows what it was like before, the back pathway was blocked off and you only had one option on where to go.
I'm not sure yet on how I'll theme this new area but I'm thinking of doing it as a maintenance area, similar to the underground parts of Zombies in Spaceland, it'll feature things like roof ventilation, storage and will not be an area typically accessible by the public. This area will also feature one of the special traps I've designed specifically for this map that I can't wait to show off! It's going to connect up to the back of the hotel, meaning you'll be able to enter in through a back door into a staff only room that will lead through to the main lobby!
I'm much happier with the layout for this now however there's still a few revisions I need to make before I can start detailing on this side of the map!
