Writers block and Animations
Added 2024-08-15 23:29:53 +0000 UTCI want to thank everyone for their patience, and do apologize for disappearing for a month and half when i said a week and not saying anything.
Female route is coming this weekend, and ill have the rest of the day out asap.
For where i have been, between irl things and a struggle I was having on the female route, my brain decided to take time off without asking me.
For the issue i was having with the female route, if you play the male route, you know that Jackie has a very specific and emotional story around the male mc.
I was struggling to find, even close to the equivalent for the female route, and i wrote, and wrote, and wrote their conversations, over and over again with different ideas and nothing felt right.
So.. writers block essentially.
I have it now, finally. So just finishing that up and getting the code ready and double checking a few things.
I know i should have said something sooner, i just, don't handle things like this well, I hate to disappoint, even though I know not saying anything is worse. and i become more anti social then i already am, and its not like i was just not saying anything here, i haven't really talked to anyone in over a month.
but wasn't wasted time. While writing that over and over again, i was also working on a element for day 8 that revolves around Ava, a very rather complicated scene I wasn't sure I could do, but its why i started it so early.
I figured out how, and i learned some new things that's going to change how I do animations from this point forward.
Working with animations in daz studio isn't the easiest thing, which is why, most of the animations are loops.
I needed to make a very detailed, and linear animation that's over 3 minutes long, and i figured out how to do it in a timely fashion, and had the first 20 seconds created in about 3 hours once i figured it out, and very quickly realized i can apply that same technique to all animations moving forward.
Meaning, much more linear and detailed animations in the future, and even reworking a few planned for the end of day 7, as well as one that hasn't been included on the male route earlier in day 7.
So, thanks again, and i do apologize, female route this weekend. And pushing to get these animations reworked and done so i can complete day 7 by the end of the month.

I do understand what you are saying, and original, yes female route was almost a carbon copy of the male route with just a female mc, but.. before steam release I ran a poll, on how people are playing the game, and if they are playing female or male, while yes the majority is male, Female only was still about 25% of all players, and on top of that, 25% played both, so, 50% are male only, and 50% play female either just female, or along with the male route. Which is a lot of the cause of the horrific launch I had on steam because while I was planning on having day 5 ready for it, but I decided to split the male and female routes more, making them 2 separate stories, the overall story is the same, but the paths through it are different, male route is heavy into ero with Alex as of right now, female is Kayla. male has scenes female doesn't, and female has scenes male doesn't. Does this take longer.. Oh my fucking god yes... at times I've debated dropping female route, but not for any other reason then time... but overall I enjoy creating these 2 stories together, but Jackie's story was troublesome.

I mean in my own opinion it literally adds nothing of value to the story. Also by you own admission this is forced content, that again by your own admission is taking away from furthering the main story or working on other aspects of the game. I also think it is a little insulting to just take the main character who has his own goals, motivations and story. Then just gender swap them and smash them into the story like trying to smash the wrong puzzle piece into place just to sate the like 5 people who want that.
