This is the first we've seen of outright romance between these two characters, so just to clarify: this audio is semi-canon. The relationship between David and Bats is left ambiguous, to allow the listener to interpret it as romantic or platonic. Both are valid interpretations! I feel that for these characters, it is better to leave it up to you, so both are potentially canon, and neither is the "true" version.
The first six minutes from the preview is completely canon. This bonus audio presents a scene that follows the romance interpretation, and is therefore non-canon. If you prefer a romantic interpretation for these characters, you can consider this audio to pretty much be canon. If you interpret these characters as platonic, this audio is just an optional "what if", and the rest of the audio beyond this preview contains no important story or character lore, so you can safely skip the full version without missing out.

I've caught up on this series on YouTube and the Old Vampire series, I'm really enjoying your writing and world building. The way you've played David slowly starting to care about and trust Bat is so believable, the fact that David clearly didn't hate being fed on as much as he made out in the first episode but wouldn't admit it has finally come back up too, nicely done! I know this isn't technically part of the series and more of a bonus but I love how you write and play their relationship, I hope they continue to find solace in each other, Bat being the sunshine to David's dour outlook is such a joy to listen to! Thanks again for writing and performing such an entertaining series! 😊
