SD Card vs. Monster Magnet and Induction Cooker

It is time to find out, how magnet proof an SD card marked 'magnet proof' really is.

I will thoroughly test the card and its data near some 1 tesla neodymium magnets and even go as far as to cook it on an induction cooker. A 2000W ~20 kHz AC electromagnet build for inducing serious eddy currents.

Will I be able to delete or change some data? Even when tested down to the last bit in every byte? I was surprised by the outcome...

SD Card vs. Monster Magnet and Induction Cooker

Comments

Thank you very much :) Much more to come. I did not expect the card to withstand being between the pot and the induction cooker for an extended time... But I have learned a new term from this: Skin depth. If the thickness of a material (everything in an SD card is thin...) is below the skin depth for the material at the frequency used by the induction cooker, then the induction cooker will not have much effect on the material.

Keep up the great work! I thought for sure the cooker would have done something to it.
