Tiger Saw Mountain

In western Daklak a great ridge of poison gem rises to the sky. It is called the Tiger's Saw and it is a vexing yet mesmerizing sight. Travelers give the mountain a wide berth as the ganniosite spires are known to cause strange delusions over time and some say the gems can have other effects as well.

For example, the humble Daklak newt. A tiny amphibian that spends it's life burrowing through mud. These newts are strangely drawn to the mountain and occasionally begin to show strange transformations-

Growing larger, they become able to burrow through the gemstone using their strangely shaped beaks. These arrow-newts spend their time hunting other hapless, gem-tainted animals that veture to the ridge. Yet occasionally, these already strange creatures continue to evolve...

...into bloated monstrosities that slide through gem like a snake through sand, crushing their way through sparkling tunnels. There is thought to be only a single Tigersaw serpent roaming the ridge, but it's work is evident throughout the mountain. These tunnels can be a way to explore the area if adventurers are quick about their business and it is said that some of these passages lead to the ancient ruins buried beneath.

Throughout the ridge ancient scenes lie frozen in time. Some of these figures show warriors mid-battle seemingly caught off-guard by the ridge's formation. Perplexingly, it seems the ridge sprouted up near instantly encasing the entire area in gem.
