I went for a walk down the boardwalk today, and right away I could feel all the stares. It happens all the time, but when I’m out in a bikini top it’s impossible not to notice. My chest felt so heavy with every step, and it drew attention no matter how much I tried to just focus on enjoying the day.
I picked up some ice cream along the way, but I barely got halfway through before tossing it. Between the heat, the melting mess, and the weight I was already carrying, it was just too much to deal with.
As I kept walking, I could feel the way people’s eyes followed me. The boardwalk was loud and crowded, but all I could think about was the constant pull of my chest and how hard it is to move naturally when it feels like that. It’s something I always have to manage, even when I just want to blend in.
Eventually I spotted the cutest little shop tucked away on the boardwalk. Stepping inside felt like such a relief — the cool air, the calm space, and finally being able to relax without all the attention.
